Role DescriptionChampion Plastics is hiring a Deputy Production Manager for our Hosur / SIPCOT facility.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a practical and hands-on production leader who can manage daily manufacturing execution across blow moulding, injection moulding, assembly, finishing, packing, and related shopfloor operations. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in production management within a manufacturing environment and should be comfortable working closely with operators, supervisors, maintenance, quality, stores, and planning teams. This person will support the Plant Operations Manager in ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality. This role requires strong shopfloor control, manpower coordination, machine utilization focus, shift discipline, and the ability to solve production issues quickly without depending heavily on top management.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily production execution across moulding, assembly, finishing, packing, and related shopfloor activities.Ensure production output meets daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.Coordinate with production supervisors, operators, maintenance, quality, stores, and planning teams to avoid production delays.Monitor machine utilization, manpower availability, shift productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, and production bottlenecks.Ensure all machines are running as per production priorities, mould availability, manpower availability, and dispatch requirements.Support shift supervisors in manpower deployment, operator discipline, production tracking, and escalation handling.Work closely with quality teams to reduce rejection, rework, and recurring process issues.Coordinate with maintenance for breakdown response, preventive maintenance windows, and machine readiness.Ensure production records, shift reports, output tracking, downtime logs, and shopfloor documentation are maintained properly.Drive shopfloor discipline, safety practices, housekeeping, and basic process adherence.Support training and development of supervisors, operators, and shopfloor personnel.Escalate critical production risks early and support practical corrective actions.
What We’re Looking ForMinimum 8 to 14 years of experience in production or manufacturing operations.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Plastics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.Strong hands-on experience in shopfloor production management, preferably in plastics, automotive components, moulded components, assembly, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.Experience managing operators, shift supervisors, production targets, machine utilization, and daily production issues.Good understanding of blow moulding, injection moulding, assembly, finishing, packing, or similar machine-based production processes is preferred.Ability to coordinate with quality, maintenance, stores, purchase, planning, and dispatch teams.Strong problem-solving ability for manpower shortages, machine downtime, quality issues, and production delays.Comfortable using Excel, ERP, or production tracking systems for daily reporting and performance monitoring.Strong leadership, communication, follow-up, and shopfloor discipline skills.Hindi communication capability is strongly preferred for interaction with North Indian operators. Tamil or Kannada is an added advantage for local workforce interaction.Prior experience in automotive components or plastic component manufacturing is preferred.
