An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an Advanced R&D Engr/Scientist – Material Characterization lab at Honeywell India Technology Center in Gurugram. This position is responsible to handle multiple advanced analytical instruments related to Chromatographic methodologies & techniques. The selected candidate will be responsible for taking ownership of the Gas Chromatography Laboratory and managing its day-to-day operations complying with safety protocol as per Honeywell site.

This role involves working in a highly dynamic environment to interact with development team, global part & managing key stakeholders.

Schedule Expectations

The successful candidate must be flexible to work in shifts and, when required, on weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

Hands on operation, analysis, calibration & interpretation of results using wide range of Gas chromatography system including conventional GC (TCD/FID/SCD), GC MS , Analyzer like SIMDIST, Reformulyzer, DHA. Provide basic troubleshooting for these instruments. Design, optimize, and validate new GC and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) methods for complex sample matrices. Aligned with development team & understand NPD project. Prioritize delivery without compromising data quality. Compliance with site HSE policies and procedures and adopt HSE requirements for safe laboratory operations. Communicate with instrument vendors & optimize inventory management. Keep abreast of new analytical method /advanced characterization technique related to complex hydrocarbon molecules. Recommend and implement productivity improvement through automation, streamlining lab process or through digitalization.

Qualifications / Skills

Minimum MSc in Analytical/ Organic Chemistry from reputed university. 7-10 years’ working experience in Refinery / Petrochemicals will be advantageous. Fundamental exposure to separation science & Chromatographic data handling systems like Chem station/ IRIS will be advantageous. Knowledge on Two-dimensional gas chromatography will be beneficial. Ability to work both independently, and in team environments.

Customer focus, result oriented & self-driven individual. Basic knowledge on safety pertaining to laboratory operation. Knowledge of Foundational & fundamental chemistry with strong knowledge on mentioned instrument is a must have. Basic knowledge of statistics. Flexible mindset.

What Personality We Are Looking For

Excellent communication skills & passion for Analytical Science. Familiar or understanding of different refinery & petrochemical stream will be an added advantage. Knowledge sharing & mentorship mindset to junior scientists on technical front.
