Job Purpose
Transport Performance is the Transport Elements and Services champion for the end-to-end Transport service performance and operational excellence across all layers IPMPLS, DWDM, Optical.
Acting as the critical bridge between Network Operations, Planning/CODE, SNOC, RAN, Core, Fiber, Projects, Enterprise and OEM partners, the Transport Performance Lead orchestrates cross-domain interventions to ensure high availability, superior service quality and rapid restoration.
The role also champions analytics and modernization.
Business Impact
Accountable to drive best-in-class Transport availability and service continuity for Mobility, Enterprise and critical Core services. Enhance customer experience through sustained improvement in SLAs – service availability, latency, jitter, packet loss, throughput, fault rate and MTTR.
Scale & Complexity
End-to-end Transport ecosystem spanning IP/MPLS, Microwave, Optical Access, DWDM/Ethernet and Mobility/Enterprise services. Multi-vendor network and OSS/NMS environment requiring strong technical governance and cross-functional orchestration.
/Key Responsibilities
Service Availability & Performance
Own and drive Circle Transport service performance across Access, Aggregation, filed KPI FCS CRC in transport IP and optical and Core layers, ensuring agreed availability and resilience benchmarks Proactively identify degradation, congestion, instability and emerging failure risks before they become customer-impacting. Drive improvement in service availability and overall network health. Ensure Transport-induced Core service outages are prevented through proactive risk identification, protection and corrective actions.
Customer Experience & Performance Assurance
Drive packet loss, latency, jitter, throughput and service KPIs within agreed SLA/benchmark values. Partner with RAN, Core and Enterprise teams for end-to-end service improvement and complaint reduction.
Major Incident, RCA & Problem Management
Act as the technical escalation authority for complex Transport incidents and high-impact service disruptions. Lead structured RCA for P1/P2 and chronic failures and drive permanent corrective action within defined timelines.
Project, Modernization & Technology Transformation
Provide technical SME support for Transport rollout, consolidation, migration, modernization and network-improvement programs. Enable traffic shifting and service cutovers with minimum customer impact and timely resolution of operational dependencies.
OEM & Cross-functional-
Orchestrate actions across SNOC, CODE, Planning, RAN, Core, OSP, Projects and Enterprise teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes. Mentor Transport field engineers, conduct structured technical knowledge sessions and build next-generation troubleshooting capability. Promote accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement across the Transport ecosystem.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Education Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, IT or related engineering discipline.
Years of Working Experience: 10–12+ years of relevant Telecom / IT / OEM experience, with significant experience in large-scale Telecom Transport Networks
Preferred Experience: Strong hands-on expertise in IP/MPLS plus Optical/DWDM/Microwave; large Service Provider network exposure; Mobility and Enterprise service understanding; NMS/OSS and performance analytics, multi-vendor OEM/partner management.
