A structural design engineer at a manufacturing equipment company develops CAD designs, engineering calculations, and manufacturable mechanical products while coordinating technical project execution. The role also supports retrofit proposals and leads mechanical engineering design work.

Full job description

Prepares engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.

Maintains project database by writing computer programs; entering data; completing backups

Participate, where relevant, in meetings with client, authorities, contractors / vendors to clarify technical issues.

Prepares and support others in the preparation of 2D design, detailed drawings, and specifications using CAD tool, preparation of bill of materials, engineering calculations.

Able to understand the design concepts from the point of view of manufacturability.

Coordinate with all related sources / departments.

Supports Global Teams for any development needs.

Support sales team for retrofit proposal & sales time technical queries related to equipment.

Complete ownership of the products starting from design phase.

Provides technical information concerning manufacturing and processing techniques, materials properties.

Leads a small team of mechanical engineers for Project design & execution
