About the Role & TeamPeople Excellence runs the operating backbone of People Success, for a full time workforce and a large contractual workforce across India and international markets. This is the transformation seat in that team. As UC scales, how the People function plans, measures and delivers has to be rebuilt around systems, automation and AI rather than manual effort. Owning that shift is the job. You will run it as a portfolio of projects: rebuilding how the company plans manpower and cost, automating work that today takes days, putting real analytics behind People decisions, redesigning core employee processes, and preparing the organisation for regulatory change. Each one is yours from diagnosis through design to adoption. The role reports to the Director, People Excellence, and works closely with the CHRO and business leadership.

Why this role is differentReal problems, owned end to end, with high impact and visibility. You pick what matters, build the case, and see it through to adoption.

What you'll do:Own the transformation roadmap for People Excellence: diagnose where the function loses time, accuracy or credibility, build the business case, and sequence the work by impactLead the automation and AI charter end to end, from problem definition and solution design through build with internal tech teams or vendors to adoption on the groundRedesign core People processes around the experience they should deliver rather than the way they currently happen, and drive the change management that makes a redesign stickOwn People analytics: the dashboards, metric definitions and data that leadership actually makes decisions onDrive workforce and cost planning: the annual AOP, monthly budget versus actual analysis, and the manpower models behind bothRun the mid-year and annual performance management cycles for the organisation, working with People Success leadershipLead regulatory change readiness, starting with the new labour codes, translating legislation into process alongside consultants and internal legalDo the analysis yourself. This is a hands-on role: you will pull the data, build the model and write the recommendation rather than briefing someone else toOwn data accuracy across People systems, defining the controls that make HR data trustworthy for the People Success partners who rely on it day to day, and for Finance, leadership and auditors

What we'll need:MBA with 4-5 years of experience in HR transformation, HR operations, project management, analytics or automationOwnership of cross-functional projects end to end, with outcomes you can point toStrong problem solving: able to break an open-ended problem down, and comfortable working with data to get to the answerComfort with ambiguity, and the judgement to choose what matters when everything looks urgentAbility to influence without authority, across Finance, Tech, Legal and business teamsHands on with Microsoft Excel and Google suite; experience with HRMS platforms (Darwinbox a plus) and a real appetite for applying AI tooling to operational problemsStrong written and verbal communication, and the presence to hold a room with senior stakeholdersSuper organized yet agile to adapt to UC's way of working

Folks you will work with:We understand that the people you work with and learn from is the single most important determinant of how much you enjoy working at a place. In fact, this defines the culture in many ways. Here is a list of UC folks you can expect to work with and collaborate with:Utkarsh Bindal, VP: Ex. Airtel, Bira91, MDIChetna Wadhwa, Director: Ex. Rivigo, MDI, DCE

What can you expect:A great work environment with massive ownership and growth opportunities - we hire folks for a career opportunity, not just the role.Energy and hustle of a startup with processes and depth of a big organizationExpect to work with people you can learn from and are invested in your growth

We endeavor to maintain a work environment free from harassment based on age, colour, physical ability, marital status, parental status, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
