PayU's Finance Organisation oversees the financial health of the business across multiple entities, spanning financial reporting, tax, treasury, FP&A, and financial operations. Within this broader org sits the Accounts Payable & Finance team — a high-ownership function at the intersection of tax compliance, foreign payments, and day-to-day financial operations. The team works in close partnership with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, and Finance Controllers to ensure payments are processed accurately and statutory obligations are met on time across PayU Entities. It's a fast-paced environment where precision matters, deadlines are real, and your work directly impacts how the business moves money — domestically and across borders.

About The Role

As Assistant Manager – Finance, you will manage and contribute to end-to-end AP operations for PayU entities, including processing, approvals, payments, reconciliations, ageing, and month/year-end activities. You will drive AP process automation through AI-enabled dashboards, automated exception handling, reporting, and payment tracking, reducing manual effort and improving process efficiency. Working with internal teams, vendors, auditors, and technology partners, you will strengthen controls, enhance visibility, and maintain audit-ready AP processes.

Responsibilities:

Drive continuous improvement across end-to-end AP processes for PayU entities, including processing, approvals, payments, reconciliations and reporting.Identify process gaps, eliminate bottlenecks, and standardize AP workflows, SOPs, and controlsLead AP automation initiatives using AI-enabled dashboards, reporting, exception handling, and payment trackingImprove invoice validation, approval monitoring, reconciliation, and ageing managementDevelop dashboards and KPIs to monitor process performance, turnaround time, exceptions, and pending itemsStreamline PR/PO, invoice, payment, and vendor-management processes to reduce manual effort and errorsAnalyse recurring issues, perform root-cause reviews, and implement sustainable corrective actionsCoordinate with internal teams, vendors, Treasury, FP&A, auditors, and technology partners to improve process outcomesStrengthen controls over invoice booking, GST, RCM, TDS, payments, reconciliations, and intercompany transactionsSupport month-end and year-end closing through standardised schedules, trackers, and automated reportingMaintain audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to approved policies and proceduresPrepare AP MIS and management reports highlighting trends, risks, improvement opportunities, and action plansDrive measurable improvements in invoice ageing, advance ageing, payment turnaround time, and overall AP efficiency

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com); CA Inter or equivalent qualification preferred5–7 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, finance operations, process improvement, or automationStrong experience with SAP FI/MM or comparable ERP systemsAdvanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and Macros; Power BI or dashboarding experience preferredGood understanding of AP processes, month-end closing, reconciliations, controls, and reportingProven ability to identify process gaps, streamline workflows, and implement automation solutionsExperience with AI-enabled tools, dashboards, exception management, and data-driven process improvementStrong analytical skills, numerical aptitude, and attention to detailEffective communicator with the ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, auditors, and technology partnersSelf-driven, deadline-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
