About UnivestUnivest is an advisory-led wealth-tech platform focused on helping investors make better, more informed investment decisions across Equities, Mutual Funds and other financial products.As we scale our Mutual Fund Advisory business, we are looking for a strong Mutual Fund Research Advisor who combines sound investment understanding with excellent client communication and a high level of ownership.This is a role for someone who can understand portfolios, evaluate mutual funds, identify gaps, explain recommendations clearly and build long-term investor relationships.

The RoleAs a Mutual Fund Research Advisor, you will be responsible for managing and advising an assigned portfolio of mutual fund advisory clients.You will own the client relationship from an advisory and servicing perspective — conducting portfolio reviews, understanding client objectives, evaluating portfolio allocation, communicating recommendations and ensuring timely follow-ups.You should be comfortable discussing mutual fund categories, fund selection, asset allocation, portfolio performance, XIRR/CAGR, rebalancing and taxation with investors in a simple and confident manner.

Key ResponsibilitiesManage an assigned portfolio of 80–120 mutual fund advisory clients through a structured quarterly review process.Conduct detailed quarterly portfolio review calls and proactively identify portfolio-level opportunities, risks and gaps.Understand client goals, risk profile, investment horizon and existing portfolio before discussing recommendations.Evaluate mutual fund portfolios across fund category, asset allocation, diversification, performance, consistency and suitability.Communicate portfolio recommendations and the rationale behind them in a simple, credible and investor-friendly manner.Handle ongoing client queries related to holdings, investments, rebalancing, redemptions and portfolio performance.Explain concepts such as XIRR, CAGR, asset allocation, LTCG/STCG and taxation in a simple manner.Identify situations requiring portfolio rebalancing or closer monitoring and ensure appropriate action/follow-up.Support onboarding of new advisory clients and transition them into the regular portfolio-review framework.Maintain accurate and timely records of every client interaction, recommendation, action item and follow-up in CRM.Build strong, trusted and long-term relationships with clients through proactive and high-quality advisory communication.Escalate complex, sensitive, complaint-related or compliance-adjacent cases appropriately.Work closely with the Mutual Fund Advisory and Research teams to continuously improve the quality of portfolio reviews and client experience.

What We're Looking For2–5 years of relevant experience in Mutual Fund Advisory, Wealth Management, Investment Advisory, Broking or a similar financial-services environment.NISM Series V-A certification is mandatory.Strong understanding of mutual fund products, categories, asset allocation and portfolio construction.
