Job Purpose and Impact
The Commodity Research Analyst (Demand) will conduct complex trading analytics efforts focused on Grains and Oilseeds Markets with specific focus on the livestock and feed markets. In this role, you will analyse short- and long-term livestock growth trends, margins, inventory, supply and demand fundamentals, industry developments, and government policy changes, with a particular focus on the dairy and poultry sectors in India.
You will translate livestock market insights into feed-volume forecasts, assess industrialization in the feed sector as a driver of growth, and combine feed-formulation models with industry intelligence to develop dynamic, tradable demand forecasts. The role will support trading, risk management, and asset-utilization decisions across global and local markets.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and execute models and tools to forecast prices, demand, relative value, and global market trends. Analyse short- and long-term livestock growth, margins, and inventory, with a focus on the dairy and poultry sectors. Translate livestock and feed-formulation insights into dynamic, tradable feed-volume and commodity-demand forecasts, considering feed-sector industrialization. Analyse demand, pricing, and supply fundamentals across Corn, wheat, oilseeds, DDGS, and other grain and oilseed by-products. Produce weekly supply-and-demand and price updates; assess India’s government policies, industry developments, capacity expansion, and competitive dynamics. Partner with traders, commercial teams, analysts, and stakeholders to develop market scenarios, provide actionable insights, support data and technology initiatives, and resolve issues independently.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of trading, risk management, economics, and commodity supply-and-demand fundamentals, including agricultural commodity markets. Strong analytical reasoning and collaboration skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, derive accurate insights, and build consensus with global teams and local stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with proficiency in modelling, coding, data science, and big data management, including experience developing supply-and-demand forecasts, price models, scenario analyses, or other trading analytics. Knowledge or experience in feed formulation, feed-sector industrialization, particularly in India.
