Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer – Protection & Automation to support testing, commissioning, configuration and troubleshooting of protection and control systems for medium- and high-voltage applications.
The role involves working on Control & Relay Panels, Protection IEDs, communication protocols, SCADA integration and protection schemes, along with customer coordination and site commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
Testing and commissioning of Control & Relay Panels (CRP) up to 765 kV. Testing and commissioning of Protection Relays and Protection Schemes for MV and HV applications, including: Feeder protection Transformer protection Distance protection Generator protection Line differential protection Busbar protection Configuration and testing of communication protocols such as: Modbus, DNP3.0, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-103 etcCreation and configuration of Datasets, RCBs and signal tagging. Configuration, parametrization, commissioning and integration of Protection IEDs with SCADA systems. Perform interoperability and integration testing of Protection IEDs. Hands-on testing using secondary injection test equipment such as: OMICRON, DOBLE, PONOVO, ISA etc Perform automated testing using methods/tools such as OCC, State Sequencing, Distance and Differential Characteristic Testing. Carry out retrofitting and troubleshooting of Protection IEDs and replacement of Control & Relay Panels. Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams. Ensure timely resolution of technical issues during commissioning and site activities.
Project & Commercial Responsibilities
Support project planning, scheduling and budgeting. Participate in cost estimation, financial management and reporting. Support contract management, negotiation and dispute resolution. Manage project-related risks and quality requirements. Support monthly turnover planning and billing. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution and completion.
Additional / Preferred Skills
Experience with Protection & Control equipment and solutions from manufacturers such as: Alstom, SEL, GE, ABB, NR, SIFANGKnowledge of Process Bus Technology. Basic knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.
