Marketing Campaigns are critical drivers of American Express’ strategy to acquire, engage, and retain customers. Marketing teams across the US require best-in-class products, data capabilities, and processes to enable accurate, scalable, and timely execution of marketing strategies.

The US Targeting Operations (USTO) team plays a key role in enabling the marketing lifecycle by translating business and product intent into effective technical solutions. The team is responsible for designing and implementing segmentation, targeting, and eligibility solutions, conducting data and technical feasibility assessments, and enabling new product capabilities and platform transformations.

Working closely with Product, Marketing, Data, and Technology teams, USTO combines strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a product mindset to solve business problems, enable product implementation, and drive automation, scalability, and continuous improvement across the targeting ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end translation of business and product intent into technical solutions, including requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, validation, and production implementation.Design and deliver Segmentation, Targeting & Eligibility solutions using UNICA, DART, or other relevant Campaign Management and decisioning tools.Apply a strong analytical and product mindset to understand business problems, assess implementation feasibility and challenges, and recommend scalable and effective solution approaches.Conduct data assessments for Product teams to evaluate data availability, quality, dependencies, gaps, and feasibility for new product capabilities and use cases.Partner with Product, Consulting, Business, and Technology teams to enable product implementation, translating business requirements into technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, eligibility logic, and executable code.Contribute to product discovery and solutioning, challenging assumptions where appropriate and recommending solutions based on data, technical feasibility, customer needs, and broader product objectives.Take accountability for quality and timely delivery, including code reviews, testing, data validation, reconciliation, production readiness, and resolution of implementation issues.Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, reusable solutions, and process improvements to improve scalability, efficiency, and speed to market.Work effectively within Agile/Product ways of working, including backlog refinement, user stories, sprint planning, estimation, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and PI Planning.Maintain appropriate technical documentation, coding standards, implementation best practices, and knowledge-sharing practices to support scalability and cross-training.Ensure adherence to all applicable governance, risk, control, and compliance requirements, including PRSA and Internal Audit support.

Qualifications

Good Understanding of product journey and its impact on operational effectiveness.Basic understanding of Big Data Technologies (Python/PySpark, Hive, SQL etc.,) is preferred.Candidate should have a Bachelor’s/master’s degree in management, Marketing, IT or Engineering from a recognized university.1-3 years of relevant work experienceUnderstanding of application architecture and technology infrastructure preferred
