Job Summary

The Plant Supply Chain Manager at General Mills India Private Limited is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all supply chain activities within a manufacturing plant. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, production planning, inventory management, and timely delivery of finished goods, directly contributing to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans for the plant, aligning with overall company objectives and market demands. Manage end-to-end material flow, from raw material procurement to finished goods distribution, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste. Lead and optimize production planning and scheduling processes to meet production targets and customer order fulfillment. Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and quality teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Implement and manage inventory control systems, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and root cause problem-solving. Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, leveraging lean principles and best practices. Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards. Develop and manage the plant's supply chain budget, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Recruit, train, and mentor supply chain personnel, fostering a high-performing and engaged team. Utilize data analytics and reporting to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive informed decision-making.Scope will include MRP, PPC, Indirect purchasing & Plant Logistics.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Preferably 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the FMCG sector. Proven experience in production planning, inventory management, logistics, and procurement. Strong understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and relevant technologies (e.g., ERP systems like SAP). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
