In this role, you will lead a team of Supplier Quality Engineers in their execution of supplier development and monitoring activities.

Job Description

Essential responsibilities:

Lead and direct the global ‘Controls’ Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) activities in support of the Gas Power business.Lead and coach team with a focus on a culture of people development, flexibility, capability growth and effective collaboration.Assign work activities and provide direction for employees and assist in their professional and technical development. Manage SQE resources to provide technical guidance to Controls supplier base globally to assure product and process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications and GE Vernova Gas power QMSFacilitate the engagement of other global supplier quality resources to meet business and customer needsManage the supplier qualification process and supplier surveillance processWork effectively with commercial, sourcing, engineering and manufacturing teams to eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of sourced componentsMonitor supplier non-conformance performance, and drive root-cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions and process improvements to reduce the escaping defects and cost of failure.Actively participate in supplier recovery efforts by managing technical issue information, and ensuring SQE resources provide support for Cost of Failure RecoverySet team quality objectives and goals that are aligned with those of the business. Manage achievement of those objective through active KPI monitoring and initiatives development as neededDrive process consistency and adherence to Global Sourcing quality proceduresDrive continuous improvement and ‘Lean’ activities across the Controls SQE team and supplier base

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics / Electrical engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum 15 years professional experienceMinimum of 5 years of sourcing or quality management experienceMinimum of 3 years of People Leader experience or demonstrated leadership experienceExperience in manufacturing of Power Plant / Automation Control CabinetsAbility and willingness to travel as required (up to 50 %)

Post Graduate in Electrical / Electronics engineering or Master of Business AdministrationExperience in manufacturing / field experience with GE Mark VIe, EX2100, Static starter panelsExperience with electronics component manufacturing, especially PCBAs, HMIs, Wire Harnesses, networking switchesKnowledge of IPC standardsKnowledge of TRS (Technical Regulations & Standards) compliance requirements such as IEC, CE, UL, CSAProven leadership ability, especially regarding performance development and coachingCertified RCA LeaderCertified SRG Auditor (GEV internal candidates)Certified Six Sigma Green BeltExperience with manufacturing process controlExperience with Lean manufacturing processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong financial, quantitative and data analysis skillsStrong project management and process improvement skillsAbility to motivate in a cross-functional, multi-site, team environmentAbility to influence at all levels of the organizationStrong oral and written communication skills
