Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Commis (Western Cuisine) to join our culinary team in Chennai, India. As a Commis, you will work under the guidance of experienced chefs, supporting kitchen operations and developing your culinary expertise in Western cuisine preparation. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cooking who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Prepare and organize mise en place for assigned stations, ensuring all ingredients and tools are ready for serviceAssist senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established recipes and standardsMaintain exceptional kitchen hygiene and follow all food safety protocols and proceduresOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and other cooking appliancesSupport the kitchen brigade by performing assigned tasks in a timely and organized mannerMonitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as directed by senior kitchen staffContribute to a positive and collaborative kitchen environment through effective teamwork and communicationContinuously learn and develop culinary skills under the mentorship of experienced chefsAssist with inventory management and report any equipment issues or supply shortagesAdhere to all organizational policies, health codes, and safety regulations
Qualifications
