About The Role

The Learning & Skills Manager leads a functional team(s) that enables the effective delivery of key aspects of the Learning Cycle (E.G. Partnering, Design & Delivery) driving the critical capabilities required of the learning function that ensure delivery of brilliant learning solutions which unlock the current and future potential of the workforce, enhancing the organisations overall competitiveness.

What You’ll Be Doing

Drives the integration and alignment of the assigned function's learning strategy with business strategy, anticipating the capabilities needed to execute strategic priorities and lead cross-functional team delivering business impact through strategically sequenced, continuous learning and performance initiatives, that optimise performance and sustain targeted behavior change. Manages a team of Learning & Skills managers / partners, Learning Design Teams, and Training Delivery functions to identify, create, and deliver high impact, quality learning experiences that deliver needed and sustained performance results at speed and scale. Manages a team that contributes to key aspects of the end-to-end learning cycle within a function and cross-functionally ensuring the development of the organisation's workforce. Collaborates with and influences Learning & Skills Specialists and functional leaders providing well-informed and strategically critical inputs into business priorities, planning and identifying opportunities for learning and performance to yield measurable business outcomes. Manages trusted partnerships throughout the business function/value stream, employing diplomacy, objectivity, and learning sciences to strategise, influence, prioritise, plan, and deliver learning and performance experiences that improve overall business performance. Delivers ongoing monitoring of learning and performance measures and outcomes across business segments, analysing trends to adjust learning strategy and design as needed. Contributes to the development of new or modifying existing business policies to propel our ability to develop differentiated skills throughout the BT Group. Coaches their team(s) to develop individual and functional capabilities ensuring performance through upskilling, development and recruitment of great talent. Implements ways to improve working processes within Learning & Skills. Identifies and Manages Third-Party suppliers, negotiating on best price and overall value, in line with Group Procurement policy and guidelines
