About the RoleThis is a hands-on internship within ThoughtSpot's People & HR Operations team, designed for someone who wants to understand how a fast-moving, global AI company keeps its people processes running. You will work across the full Hire-to-Retire lifecycle — from the moment a new hire joins to the day someone exits — handling the operational work that keeps the employee experience consistent and compliant.This is a great fit if you are detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple tasks, and want real exposure to how HR Ops works at a Gartner Magic Quadrant-recognised tech company.
What You Will Do:
1 · Onboarding & New Hire AdministrationPrepare and send new hire welcome emails and Day 1 logistics informationCreate employee profiles in Rippling with all required fieldsAssign and track completion of new hire onboarding task lists in RipplingSend and track completion of new hire documentation: offer letter acknowledgement, policy sign-offs, tax formsCoordinate IT provisioning requests for new hires: laptop, system access, toolsSet up and administer new hire orientation sessions including scheduling and logisticsPrepare region-wise new hire checklists, add them to onboarding SOPs, and keep them updatedTrack Day 1 readiness checklist for all incoming hires and flag exceptionsMonitor and follow up on incomplete onboarding tasks past the due dateMaintain the new hire tracker and update status fields weekly2 · Offboarding & Exit AdministrationInitiate offboarding workflows in Rippling on receipt of termination confirmationSend exit documentation packages to departing employeesTrack return of company assets: laptop, ID card, access cardsTrack completion of offboarding tasks and follow up on outstanding itemsUpdate employee status in Rippling post last working dayPrepare region-wise employee-facing offboarding checklists, link them to existing SOPs, and keep them updated3 · Employee Data & HR TransactionsProcess employee data change requests in Rippling: manager changes, title changes, department transfers, location updatesGenerate and send standard employment letters: verification of employment, compensation letters, experience lettersProcess probation confirmation updates in Rippling for non-US employeesUpdate employee records following approval of lifecycle changesMaintain the HR transactions tracker and update status on each requestFollow up on pending approvals and incomplete data change requests4 · Compliance & Audit SupportRun regular audits of new hire task completion and flag non-complianceMaintain and update compliance trackers for onboarding and offboardingRun a monthly audit to ensure 100% completion and acknowledgement of all mandatory HR policy sign-offs and compliance requirements across all regionsMaintain audit logs and ensure documentation is filed and accessible5 · Benefits OperationsManage additions and deletions of employee benefits dataHandle first-level employee benefits queries and escalate where neededFollow up with new joiners to ensure completion of benefits enrolmentEnsure completion of nominations by new joinersCoordinate with insurers and brokers on employee queries and follow up through to resolutionGuide employees through the GMC and OPD claims process and assist with claim rejectionsManage documentation and system updates for Maternity Leave and Paternity Leave in India6 · Ticketing & Employee SupportMonitor the HR Jira board: triage new tickets, update status, and follow up on overdue itemsRespond to routine employee queries in the #mypeople Slack channelEscalate complex or sensitive queries to senior HR Ops team membersLog all employee interactions and resolutions in Jira for audit and reporting purposesSend acknowledgement and status update messages to employees on open tickets
What You Bring:
Pursuing or recently completed a degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related fieldStrong attention to detail — you catch things before they become problemsComfortable working with tools like Google Sheets, Jira, and Slack — experience with Rippling is a plusClear written communication: you can draft a professional email without much hand-holdingAbility to manage multiple tasks and follow up proactively without being remindedDiscretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee informationEagerness to learn how HR Ops actually works inside a global tech company
