The role

A lending manager at a solar energy company builds consumer lending partnerships and financing marketplaces, manages dealer/channel finance and loan funnel management, and applies credit understanding and MIS/data analytics to grow disbursements. Negotiates lender programs and designs customer financing for residential and commercial solar installations.

Full job description

1. Build lending partnerships

Identify and onboard banks, NBFCs and fintech lending partners.

Negotiate interest rates, processing fees, tenure, LTV and dealer/customer schemes.

Create multiple financing options for residential, C&I and other solar customers.

Maintain relationships with lending-partner senior management.

Ensure Loom is not dependent on a single lender.

Target: 5–10 active lending partners.

2. Build the Loom Solar Finance Marketplace

Create a platform where a customer can apply once and get matched with the most suitable lender.

Example:

Customer wants ₹2.5 lakh solar system

→ Loom collects customer information

→ Credit/eligibility check

→ Application sent to multiple lenders

→ Best eligible offer presented

→ Loan approved

→ Dealer gets installation instruction

→ Loom gets disbursement

3. Increase loan conversion

Own the complete funnel and improve:

4. Dealer finance program

Build a Loom Partner Finance Program for dealers/installers.

Responsibilities:

Dealer onboarding for finance.

Train dealers to explain EMI options.

Provide dealer finance dashboard.

Monitor dealer-wise loan applications.

Identify dealers with low finance penetration.

Create incentives for dealers who generate quality finance applications.

Example target:

Every active Loom dealer should be able to offer financing to every eligible customer.

5. Customer financing

Design attractive financing propositions such as:

0/low upfront payment where commercially viable

3–7 year tenure

Competitive EMI

Subsidy-linked financing

Solar + battery financing

Residential rooftop financing

C&I financing

Upgrade/refinancing options

The manager should continuously compare Loom's offers against competitors.

6. PM Surya Ghar financing

Develop a specialized process for PM Surya Ghar customers:

Enquiry → Eligibility → Loan → Subsidy → Installation → Disbursement
