Join Splunk, a Cisco company solution engineering team supporting Public Sector customers and helping organizations address complex security and technology challenges. In this role, you’ll work closely with government and Public Sector organizations, partners, and cross-functional sales teams to deliver innovative Cisco and Splunk security solutions. You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers strengthen their security posture while driving adoption and growth across the portfolio.

Your Impact

As a Technical Sales Professional, You Will

Own the technical relationship with Public Sector customers and partners, serving as a trusted technical advisor and primary technical sales influencer. Partner with account and sales teams on strategic account planning, identifying growth opportunities and aligning technical strategies with Public Sector customer objectives. Engage with IT and security leaders, technical decision-makers, and lines of business to understand customer environments, security challenges, business priorities, and technical requirements. Translate customer business and security needs into innovative Cisco and Splunk Security solutions and lead strategic solution conversations. Design and present cross-architecture security solutions, demonstrations, and technical presentations that address complex Public Sector challenges. Lead technical engagements throughout the sales cycle, helping move opportunities from technical discovery and validation through closure. Leverage strong knowledge of Splunk Security technologies, including Splunk Cloud, Splunk Enterprise Security (ES), SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, Risk-Based Alerting (RBA), Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Mission Control, and security analytics. Apply knowledge of security technologies and architectures including SOC, incident response, threat hunting, XDR/EDR, network security, cloud security, Zero Trust, and security operations to develop relevant customer solutions. Leverage competitive market insights to position and differentiate Cisco and Splunk solutions against competing security platforms. Coordinate and influence virtual teams of sales resources, security specialists, internal stakeholders, and external partners to drive customer success. Provide feedback to Business Entities (BEs) and relevant sales teams on strategic Public Sector customer needs, security trends, market opportunities, and competitive tactics. Contribute to demand-generation, technical enablement, and education initiatives that strengthen Cisco and Splunk security capabilities across the Public Sector. Adapt technical and engagement strategies to evolving Public Sector priorities, cybersecurity threats, technology trends, and market conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of related experience, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience. 7+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, security consulting, cybersecurity, or a related customer-facing technical role. Experience engaging with Public Sector customers, IT/security leaders, technical decision-makers, and business stakeholders. Experience designing, presenting, and demonstrating security or technology solutions aligned to customer business challenges. Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, security analytics, threat detection, incident response, or security operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Public Sector or government customers, particularly within complex or regulated environments. Strong knowledge of Splunk Security, including Splunk Enterprise Security, SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, Risk-Based Alerting, Threat Intelligence, and security analytics. Experience across XDR/EDR, Network Security, Cloud Security, Zero Trust, Threat Hunting, SOC, and Incident Response. Experience driving cross-sell, up-sell, competitive displacement, or market-share growth within strategic accounts. Strong understanding of cybersecurity trends, customer environments, and competitive security technologies. Experience influencing technical executives and leading strategic security solution conversations.
