Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Solution Engineer to join our HVDC team. This role will provide technical expertise for work associated with the HVDC reference solutions across the full solution lifecycle, with primary focus on working with the Solution Owner – Technical Lead on solution architecture, deployment support, regional enablement, technical governance, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will own technical activities for elements of the HVDC reference solutions, enabling consistent, scalable, and high-quality execution across regions. This Engineer will also work with colleagues in the SL and Regions to progress and conclude these technical activities in a coordinated and collaborative manner to always ensure the best overall outcome for the business.

Essential Responsibilities

Own technical activities to develop and maintain the HVDC reference solutions, ensuring consistency, scalability, standardization, and configurabilityDevelop, maintain, and improve engineering documentation, technical guidelines, toolkits, templates, and deployment methodologies to support efficient and repeatable executionEnsure technical interfaces are correctly identified, managed and verified with the appropriate engineering functionsProvide technical support during ITO and OTR phases, ensuring reference solutions are correctly applied and having final approval for technical deviations from the reference solutionsCollaborate with the engineering functions and subject matter experts as part of the team completing a DFMEA for the reference solutions, focusing on the system architecture level of each solutionSupport bid and execution teams with solution framing, technical governance, risk reviews, and deployment guidance for major opportunities and strategic projectsWork to incorporate RoE, lessons learned and in-service performance feedback into reference solutions to improve quality, competitiveness, and serviceabilitySupport lifecycle management activities including obsolescence management, installed base support, service opportunity development, and alignment with service and supply chain stakeholdersEnsure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and certification expectations across all regions where HVDC solutions are deployedSupport the Solution Delivery Leader in the work planning and prioritization of activities in alignment with business and solution line objectives

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Power Electronics, or related fieldDemonstrated experience in technical leadership, system architecture, reference solution development, or complex project engineering within a global or multi-region environmentStrong understanding of HVDC systems, power electronics, control and protection systems, grid integration, and power system dynamicsExperience supporting multiple phases of the solution lifecycle, including bid support, design, execution, commissioning, and lifecycle supportProven ability to lead technical problem-solving, manage technical risk, and guide teams through complex engineering decisionsEmerging ability to lead, coach, or coordinate subject matter experts, or similar technical professionals in a people leadership or matrix leadership capacityStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work across engineering, product, regional, commercial, and customer teamsFluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
