About the Role
As a Relationship Manager – Commercial Banking, you will be responsible for acquiring and managing mid-corporate clients to drive sustainable revenue and portfolio growth across assets and liabilities. The role emphasizes new-to-bank (NTB) acquisition, cross-selling transaction banking products (such as Cash Management Services, Trade Services), and offering treasury/FX solutions. You will ensure portfolio quality, compliance with risk policies, and deliver exceptional client experience through collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Business Development:
Acquire and onboard new mid-corporate clientsAchieve targets for fund-based and non-fund-based products (working capital loans, term loans, trade finance)Cross-sell products such as treasury services, CMS, forex, and salary accounts
Revenue Generation:
Meet income targets from interest and fee-based productsIncrease wallet share by offering tailored solutions
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makersEnsure high client satisfaction through regular engagement and timely issue resolution
Risk Management:
Monitor client creditworthiness and ensure compliance with risk policiesMinimize NPAs by maintaining a healthy portfolioPrepare CAM for NTB and ETB renewals; monitor covenants for existing contracts
Collaboration:
Work closely with product, credit, and operations teams for seamless service delivery
Secondary Responsibilities
Maintain CRM hygiene by logging calls, updating opportunities, and ensuring KYC complianceProvide market intelligence on sectors, competitors, and pricing; contribute to AOP planningPrepare MIS and portfolio analytics (utilization, profitability, cross-sell ratios) for governance forumsSupport audits and compliance reviews; close observations within timelinesRepresent the bank at client events, trade bodies, and webinars to enhance brand visibilityAct as backup RM for selected accounts to ensure continuity of service
What We Are Looking For
Education
Graduate Degree: B.Tech/B.Com/BA/BSc from an accredited university (full-time)
Postgraduate (Preferred): MBA/PGDM or CA/ICWA (Premier/Tier I preferred; Tier II/III considered based on profile)
Experience
6–12 years of relevant experience in mid-corporate/commercial banking in private or public sector banks
Skills And Attributes
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of banking products, credit and financial analysis, and regulatory compliance
Proficiency in advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and LOS/LMS platforms
