Responsibilities
The TeamViewer ONE platform finds and resolves IT issues before they affect users. Over the past several years we have successfully built and released products which make IT administrators' day-to-day life easier. Our vision is to become a unified endpoint management solution for our customers.
We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to provide strong technical leadership and strategic direction in building and evolving our TeamViewer ONE and Remote Management capabilities, trusted by small and medium business customers. In this role, you will own critical technical decisions, influence architecture across multiple teams, and ensure long-term scalability, reliability, and performance of our SaaS cloud platform.
You will apply deep expertise in systems engineering and distributed architectures, using C++, C# and Java as primary implementation languages. Also play a central role in evolving the technical foundation of our products.
As part of an agile environment, you will act as a senior individual contributor and organizational technical leader, working across teams to advance our Patch Management product within TeamViewer ONE. You will mentor engineers, define engineering standards, and raise the overall technical bar of the organization.
Provide technical leadership and architectural ownership for core services of the TeamViewer ONE & Remote Management platformDefine, evolve, and govern system architecture and major technical decisions for new and existing componentsGuide teams in building high-performance systems, while ensuring long-term maintainability and operational excellencePartner with product management, engineering, and quality teams to design solutions that balance customer needs, performance, cost and technical sustainabilityDrive continuous integration, delivery and deployment practices from development to productionOversee development of clients, backend services, and partner APIs across multiple teamsEstablish architectural standards for common APIs, frameworks, and shared servicesDesign and evolve highly available, high-quality, and cost-efficient data platformsProactively identify technical risks and guide the organization toward sustainable solutionsEnsure that all software is secure, stable, scalable and operationally excellentStay ahead of industry trends and continuously improve platform capabilitiesServe as mentor and technical authority for senior engineers and emerging technical leadersAct as the primary technical advisor to product leadership for feasibility, risk analysis and long-term planningEngage directly with customers and stakeholders during critical implementations and complex defect investigationsStrengthen engineering culture by defining best practices, coding standards and design principles
Requirements
A university or college degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience15+ years of professional experience building, evolving, and operating large-scale software systemsDeep expertise in systems programming and distributed system design, with strong hands-on experience using C++, C# and Java across complex platformsProven track record of designing highly scalable, reliable, and high-performance architectures for mission-critical systemsCadence, identity & access management, and secure system design, with responsibility for defining and enforcing platform-wide security standardsStrong experience designing and operating large-scale databases, data pipelines, and modern analytical platforms, including data lakes or lakehouse architecturesAdvanced understanding of networking technologies and protocolsExtensive experience with engineering quality practices, automated testing frameworks, and production-grade CI/CD pipelinesHands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Argo CD, and major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) including services such as AKS, Redis, Key Vault, Event Hub, Service Bus, SQL MI, etc.Demonstrated ability to drive architectural decisions across complex, multi-team systems and product ecosystemsStrong mastery of Clean Code principles and object-oriented design patternsFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is a plusExperience with end-user computing concepts, log analysis, anomaly detection, and correlation is a plusExceptional analytical thinking, technical judgment, and leadership skills with a strong collaborative mindsetFluency in English is mandatory
