There is an immediate opening for a Lead Chemical Engineer in Delhi Engineering Center within Engineering and Projects. This position is an integral part of our global engineering organization and provides a key role in the management of internal resources and transfer of process technology to our customers.
This position is for Lead Chemical Engineer to provide technical leadership for the UOP technologies along with providing Engineering solutions to diverse technical problems. Lead Chemical Engineer will provide technical expertise on Sch A projects, maintain and improve design tools / documentation, bring in insightful/ innovative approach to advancement of existing technology along with developing new technologies while working closely with R&D and Technical Services and be involved in supporting Services in trouble shooting efforts that need Engineering expertise. Lead Chemical Engineer will provide mentoring and motivation to enhance the skills of less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Job Accountabilities
Provide engineering design expertise for a group of related processes or technologies, including being the point of contact in IPL Engg for the design related issues originating related to respective technologies. Abide by and communicate changes in technical standards, policies, and procedures within assigned area. Provide Process design expertise throughout the duration of Engineering projects, including Proposal phase designs, Basic Engineering for new unit designs & revamps including Post-schedule A. Support Sales/Sales Support for tailoring UOP’s offering to ensure that it is aligned with customer expectations and requirements. Provide innovative solutions for the changing needs of UOP’s customer base and implement those solutions/modifications to our technology offerings. Collect feedback from TS / customer / sales and incorporate changes in the design to improve all six efficiencies Provide process specialist support during internal & customer meetings during Basic Engg phase. Accountable for creating, maintaining, and improving the models, tools and other infrastructure associated with the design within assigned area Ensure that all projects in the specific technology area are properly analyzed for hazards using HAZOP techniques. Ensure that PHAs exist for all sold processes and initiate them for all new or modified technologies before the 1st design is completed Perform/Review the design and technical modifications to improve UOP’s technology offering. Interact closely with other Technical Experts, like Skills Specialists, Technical Services & R&D to come up with the solutions to complex problems. Keep up to date with customer needs and lead the technology advancements within assigned area, communicate changes to others, and incorporate relevant changes into UOP’s design tools/documentation. Participate and lead the technology development in respective technology area Support technical services in the resolution of problems in operating units where Engineering expertise is required. Provide Process Design expertise in internal and external HAZOP studies of Honeywell UOP delivered process units Coach less experienced engineers to enhance their technology specific skills and understanding Present in Internal UOP Conferences on updates relating to the process design fundamentals & developments and engineering design principles. Compliance to Honeywell Policies including HS&E, HR, Legal Compliance, Intellectual Property Protection, Integrity & Codes of Conduct
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
B.E. / B. Tech in Chemical Engineering 12-15 years of Experience in Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemicals industry, majority in process design engineering Expertise in aspects of Process Engineering such as Process Simulation, Generation of PFD, P&ID & Equipment Specs, Hydraulic Calculation, Process Control, Project Documentation etc. Strong familiarization with UOP engineering work processes and inter-discipline interactions Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills and presentation skills
Additional Qualifications
Significant experience in Refining and/or Petrochemicals Technologies Expertise in use and output analysis of simulation and design software such as UNISIM, HTRI etc.
