WHO YOU ARE
• You have an engineering degree or equivalent working experience, with several years of management experience in construction, consultancy and/or contracting, preferably within the retail sector.
• You have strong knowledge of construction management, project management, cost control, procurement, contracts, timelines, risk management and local permission processes.
• You are passionate about delivering safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions while keeping business needs and lifecycle cost in mind.
• You are an innovative, open-minded and service-minded leader who can lead both business and people, build strong relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• You have experience developing people through coaching, training, performance management and career development.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage all construction aspects of responsible building projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative delivery.
• Develop and implement construction project delivery strategies, methods and procedures in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead engagement with designers, contractors and partners to identify cost-efficient and innovative project delivery solutions.
• Work closely with Procurement and Engineering to define sourcing strategies, contractual models and effective design and construction methods.
• Ensure project estimates, budgets, cost follow-up, timelines and risk management are in place and aligned with investment requirements.
• Lead and ensure procurement, contractors, permits, budgets and cost follow-up are secured for responsible projects.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, including IWAY, as well as applicable construction standards and regulations.
• Ensure completed areas are handed over for retail build-up or tenant fit-out according to the agreed scope and schedule.
• Ensure competent resources are available throughout all phases of construction projects and manage team competence, performance and succession planning.
• Create an environment where IKEA culture is strong and embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.
