About the Team and the RoleThe Corporate Finance & Accounts team at Ather is responsible for driving financial performance, managing automotive manufacturing finance operations, establishing internal controls, and providing strategic financial direction to support business expansion.This role is for a Manufacturing Finance Partner who will oversee and manage the automotive manufacturing business, serving as a key strategic advisor to optimize costs, drive profitable growth, and align operational targets with overall financial planning.
ResponsibilitiesLead manufacturing budget creation, forecasting production costs, working capital, and cash flows while managing budget variance analysis and corrective actions.Conduct financial feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for projects to deliver data-driven insights to leadership.Analyze comprehensive manufacturing costs—including material, labor, and overheads—and implement cost-reduction strategies and standard costing mechanisms.Deliver accurate financial performance reports, maintain regulatory compliance and internal controls, and manage manufacturing audit coordination.Establish, track, and report on manufacturing financial KPIs to identify performance trends and process improvements.Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, procurement, and engineering to align business objectives and evaluate capital expenditures.Perform financial risk assessments, oversee inventory valuation, and monitor stock levels to mitigate risks and avoid obsolescence.Drive manufacturing finance system upgrades, automated reporting solutions, and integrated production-finance data workflows.
Experience and QualificationsChartered Accountant (CA)Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 2 years specifically in a manufacturing plant
Must Have CompetenciesAdvanced financial modeling, project finance, and capital expenditure evaluation.Comprehensive cost analysis, standard costing, and budget management for plant operations.High proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle.Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities for complex financial computations and reporting automation.
Good to Have CompetenciesExperience in inventory management, valuation techniques, and stock obsolescence control.Knowledge of financial risk assessment frameworks and internal regulatory compliance.Familiarity with manufacturing financial KPI design, tracking, and trend analysis.Domain exposure to two-wheeler or automotive industry manufacturing processes.
