Regional Technology APAC | LifeCycle Engineering | Electrical Engineering Asia. Electrical Engineering Asia is part of the LifeCycle Engineering APAC organization, providing Electrical Engineering and Technical Support to both Service and Construction operations across Asia. The team serves as the frontline technical interface between Technology (VTO) and regional business units, supporting both Onshore and Offshore wind projects. As a key technical function, the department delivers specialized support for electrical systems, turbine reliability, troubleshooting, product improvements, software management, and operational excellence initiatives across the region.

Responsibilities

Technical Support & Issue ResolutionPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve reliabilityProvide skilled second-level Electrical Engineering dispositions to Service and Construction organizations.Provide remote Engineering and problem-solving support to field technicians and site teamsConstruction & Commissioning SupportSupport installation, commissioning, start-up, and handover of wind turbinesEnsure proper configuration, software setup, and parameter alignment for wind farmsAssist Construction teams in resolving technical and commissioning challengesReliability & Performance ImprovementFacilitate analysis of poor-performing turbines and wind farms and recommend performance improvement plansConduct reliability discussions internally and with customersSupport cost-out initiatives and continuous improvement projectsSoftware & Configuration ManagementEnsure correct software and parameter settings across wind farmsCoordinate software improvement requests and field validation activitiesPerform remote software and configuration uploads when requiredStakeholder ManagementLiaise with customers and regional stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution of technical issuesWork closely with global engineering teams and R&D to deliver technical solutionsProvide technical input to support Sales in promoting turbine and service offeringsKnowledge ManagementDocument effective problem-solving solutions within Vestas Global Advisor (VGA)Share technical knowledge and best practices with field operations teams

Qualifications

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics / Similar engineering discipline10 to 15 years of experience in technical support, engineering, issue investigation, or reliability engineering within the wind energy industryExtensive practical experience supporting Vestas Onshore and Offshore Wind TurbinesExperience with Classic Controller and VMP Controller platforms is highly desirableDemonstrated skill in turbine fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, technical problem-solving, and reliability improvement initiativesExperience working with cross-functional teams including Service, Operations, Technology, and Remote Operation Centers (ROC)Willingness to travel to wind farm sites and support critical troubleshooting activities when requiredAdvanced turbine fault diagnosis and fault-finding abilitySolid understanding of wind turbine electrical, control, hydraulic, and mechanical systemsAbility to analyze SCADA data, alarms, logs, and performance trends to identify root causes and corrective actionsProficiency in controller software, turbine communication networks, and condition monitoring systemsSolid knowledge of reliability engineering principles and continuous improvement methodologies
