Role Definition

Leads the development of analytics, business intelligence, AI, and data science capabilities supporting Caterpillar's Fleet Monitoring Center. Responsible for transforming machine, operational, customer, and commercial data into actionable insights that improve customer uptime, dealer productivity, analyst effectiveness, and business growth.

The role serves as the analytics leader for FMC, combining deep technical expertise in data science and modern analytics platforms with strong commercial acumen to ensure data-driven decisions translate into measurable customer and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Dashboarding

Own the FMC enterprise reporting and analytics ecosystem.Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards, operational scorecards, KPI reporting, and self-service analytics solutions using Power BI and Tableau.Establish reporting standards, governance processes, and data definitions across FMC.Partner with business leaders to define and measure customer, dealer, analyst, and operational performance metrics.Drive adoption of analytics solutions through effective stakeholder engagement and training.

Data Science & Advanced Analytics

Build predictive and prescriptive analytics models utilizing telematics, machine health, service, fleet, and operational data.Develop statistical models that improve diagnostic accuracy, maintenance planning, and downtime prediction.Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within large-scale datasets.Lead forecasting initiatives supporting workforce planning, asset coverage planning, customer growth, and operational scalability.Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations.

AI & Intelligent Automation

Develop FMC's AI roadmap and implementation strategy.Evaluate and deploy Generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation solutions.Build AI-enabled tools that improve analyst productivity and reduce manual effort.Partner with Digital teams to develop LLM-powered assistants, recommendation engines, diagnostic support tools, and knowledge management solutions.Identify opportunities for automation across analysis, reporting, and operational workflows.

Data Engineering & Architecture

Lead development of scalable analytics infrastructure using Snowflake and enterprise data platforms.Design and optimize SQL-based data models and datasets supporting operational and executive reporting.Develop Python-based automation, analytics workflows, and data preparation pipelines.Ensure data quality, integrity, accessibility, and governance across FMC data assets.Partner with Digital and IT teams on architecture decisions and platform enhancements.

Commercial Intelligence

Analyze customer adoption, uptime performance, recommendation effectiveness, dealer engagement, and revenue performance.Develop KPI frameworks linking FMC activities to customer outcomes and Services growth.Support business case development, ROI analysis, and strategic decision making.Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
