ABOUT COMPANY
Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.
We are looking for a hands-on Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace composites and metallic manufacturing, who can drive vendor quality, inspections, NDT, NCR/CAPA closure, and ensure suppliers consistently meet our quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform incoming inspection of composite and metallic raw materials to ensure
compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
Ensure vendor-side in-process inspection activities for metallic and composite
structures are carried out as per approved quality standards and process
requirements.
Lead final quality inspection activities including:
- Visual inspection
- Dimensional inspection using gauges and CMM
- Coordination of NDT activities such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Coordinate and support NDT inspections and destructive testing activities to
ensure product qualification and compliance with applicable standards and
acceptance criteria.
Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, route cards, process
documents, and acceptance criteria.
Handle supplier-side Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and closely coordinate
with vendors to obtain corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closure within
defined timelines.
Prepare Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), inspection scope documents, and
quality-related reports.
Review vendor-submitted documents including:
- Process plans
- Inspection plans
- Inspection reports
- Manufacturing and quality records
Conduct supplier evaluation audits and supplier quality audits to ensure
product and process quality compliance.
Maintain quality documentation and ensure complete traceability of materials,
manufacturing, and inspection records.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems
Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T interpretation.
Experience in CFRP composite manufacturing processes and metallic
machining operations.
Experience in NDT inspection techniques (UT, DPT, RT, VT) and destructive
testing of composite and metallic aerospace structures.
Experience in handling NCRs and CAPA follow-up activities.
Experience in supplier quality management and vendor coordination.
Familiarity with inspection tools, gauges, CMM, and quality documentation
systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
NDT Level II Certified.
Good communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with
cross-functional teams.
