Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India

We are seeking a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineer/Inspector with specialization in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to support inspection and quality assurance of critical components.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

Perform Ultrasonic Testing (UT) on materials including aluminum alloys, titanium, steel, forgings, castings, and composite materials.

Conduct inspections using:

Conventional UT

Immersion UT

Set up and calibrate UT equipment including:

DAC (Distance Amplitude Correction)

TCG (Time Corrected Gain)

Reference blocks and sensitivity settings.

Inspection & Defect Evaluation

Interpret UT signals and evaluate discontinuities in accordance with applicable standards and inspection procedures.

Identify and characterize defects in inspected components and materials.

Radiographic Testing (RT)

Perform interpretation of RT films in accordance with applicable standards and customer specifications.

Evaluate radiographic films for welds, castings, and other critical components.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain proper documentation for all inspection activities.

Maintain inspection records as per quality and compliance requirements.

Engineering Review

Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements prior to conducting inspections.

Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to support inspection and defect evaluation.

Requirements

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field

1–5 years of experience in NDT inspections

Hands-on experience in Ultrasonic Testing and defect interpretation

Strong knowledge of UT inspection techniques and equipment calibration

Experience in UT signal interpretation and discontinuity evaluation

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and inspection specifications

Experience in RT film interpretation preferred
