The Opportunity
The Unified Communications Engineer I will support Teva’s global video conferencing, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and collaboration environments. The role is intended to strengthen the UC team’s day-to-day operational coverage, with a primary focus on meeting room incidents, user assistance, first-level technical triage, and coordination with global IT support teams. The engineer will work closely with senior UC team members, site support teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to keep meeting rooms and collaboration services reliable, well documented, and easy to support.
This position is not expected to lead end-to-end room deployment projects at the initial stage. However, the engineer should understand how room systems are designed, configured, installed, and supported so they can gradually contribute to global room installation activities, commissioning readiness, documentation, and post-deployment support.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
Meeting room incident handling: Act as an initial UC team point of contact for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Poly, Cisco/CVI, Crestron, and related meeting room incidents, service requests, and operational questions.First-level troubleshooting and triage: Perform structured initial troubleshooting of audio, video, control, compute, connectivity, account, calendar, and peripheral issues before escalating to senior engineers, vendors, or specialized infrastructure teams.Global support enablement: Guide local IT support teams and service desk teams around the world on how to perform basic meeting room troubleshooting, collect required information, validate symptoms, and follow standard support playbooks.User support and training: Assist end users with meeting room usage, basic troubleshooting, and collaboration tool adoption, including clear communication before or during business-critical meetings when support is required.ServiceNow ownership: Work on incidents, service requests, and change requests in ServiceNow, ensuring proper documentation, ownership, updates, escalation, and closure in line with agreed service levels.Room system support: Support the availability and stability of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Poly devices, Cisco/CVI integrations, Crestron control systems, and related UC/AV components.Deployment participation: Participate in room installation and upgrade activities by reviewing technical information, supporting configuration readiness, joining handover activities, assisting with commissioning, and ensuring support documentation is complete.Operational coordination: Coordinate with IT infrastructure, network, site support, vendors, and business teams to resolve meeting room issues and support standard operational changes.Documentation and knowledge sharing: Maintain accurate troubleshooting notes, known issues, support procedures, room information, diagrams, asset details, and user-facing guidance for recurring issues.Maintenance and optimization: Assist with monitoring, software updates, device health checks, preventive maintenance, and service improvement activities to reduce repeat incidents and meeting room downtime.
Your Skills And Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience supporting video conferencing systems, meeting room technologies, or collaboration platforms.Technical knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Microsoft 365 collaboration services, Poly room systems, Cisco/CVI concepts, Crestron room control, and common AV peripherals.Troubleshooting capability: Ability to diagnose and document common room issues involving audio, video, displays, cameras, microphones, control systems, network connectivity, room accounts, calendar integration, and device registration.Operational mindset: Comfortable working with tickets, SLAs, runbooks, standard changes, incident communication, and escalation workflows in an enterprise IT environment.Training and communication: Able to explain technical steps clearly to end users, service desk agents, and local IT teams, both verbally and in writing.Collaboration: Strong team player who can work with senior UC engineers, vendors, site IT, network teams, facilities, and business stakeholders across regions and time zones.Documentation: Ability to capture accurate information, create troubleshooting notes, update knowledge articles, and maintain structured operational documentation.Language: Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Also Good to Have
Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools.Familiarity with room deployment lifecycles, including design review, staging, installation support, commissioning, handover, and post-go-live support.Basic understanding of enterprise networks as they relate to meeting rooms, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, firewall dependencies, QoS, and device management access.Awareness of market trends in meeting room technology, hybrid work, workplace experience, conference room analytics, and collaboration tooling.
