We are looking for Testing & Commissioning and Interface Manager

The Testing & Commissioning (T&C) and Interface Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and managing all testing, commissioning, and interface activities associated with the 33 kV Auxiliary Power Distribution System, 750 V DC Third Rail Traction Electrification System, Traction Substations, Auxiliary Substations, and SCADA System.

The role ensures that all systems, equipment, and facilities are installed, tested, commissioned, integrated, and handed over to the Customer in accordance with project specifications, applicable standards, safety requirements, and operational performance criteria.

The position requires strong leadership of multidisciplinary commissioning teams and effective coordination with customers, civil contractors, system contractors, consultants, independent safety assessors, and operations teams.

Testing & Commissioning ManagementDevelop and implement Testing & Commissioning strategies, procedures, schedules, and methodologies in line with BMRCL contractual requirementsPlan and manage all pre-commissioning, commissioning, integrated testing, and system validation activities.Ensure successful testing and commissioning of: 33 kV Auxiliary Power Distribution System, 750 V DC Third Rail Traction System, Traction Substations (TSS), Auxiliary Substations (ASS), SCADA SystemAssociated protection, control, and communication systemsVerify compliance with design specifications, contract requirements, standards, and regulatory requirements.Monitor testing progress and resolve technical issues affecting commissioning activities.Interface ManagementCoordinate interfaces among various project stakeholders including Civil Contractors, E&M Contractors, Signaling Contractors, Telecom Contractors, Rolling Stock Teams, Customers and ConsultantsEnsure readiness of interfacing systems for integrated testing and commissioning.Identify interface risks and implement mitigation plans to avoid delays.Safety & Quality AssuranceEnsure all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with project EHS requirements.Conduct risk assessments, method statement reviews, and safety briefings.Ensure quality documentation and testing records are maintained and traceable.Verify compliance with applicable Indian and international standards.Team LeadershipLead and supervise testing engineers, commissioning engineers, technicians, and testing agencies.Mentor team members and develop technical competencies.Foster a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Documentation & HandoverPrepare and review: Testing Procedures, Commissioning Procedures, Integrated Testing Reports, Energization Reports, Final Commissioning Reports, As-Built Documentation, Operation & Maintenance ManualsMaintain complete testing and commissioning records.Coordinate system handover and final acceptance with the Customer and O&M teams.Stakeholder ManagementAttend technical meetings with Customers, Consultants, and Project Management teams.Provide regular progress updates and commissioning status reports.Support obtaining approvals, clearances, and operational permits for system energization and service commencement.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.Additional certifications in Testing & Commissioning, Power Systems, or Project Management will be an advantage.Minimum 10 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning of electrical power and traction systems.Minimum 5 years of similar experience in: 750 V DC Traction Electrification Systems, 33 kV Auxiliary Power Distribution Systems, Metro Rail Projects, Project Experience, Experience in Metro Rail projects in India and/or overseas involving: Third Rail Electrification Systems, Traction Power Supply Systems, Auxiliary Power Supply Systems, SCADA Systems, Integrated Testing & Commissioning Activities, System Handover to Customer/O&M TeamsRequired Technical Skills: 33 kV Power Distribution Systems, 750 V DC Third Rail Traction Systems, Traction Substations (TSS), Auxiliary Substations (ASS), Protection & Control Systems, SCADA Systems, Integrated Testing & Commissioning, Interface Management, Electrical Safety Procedures, O&M Documentation, Technical Reporting and Record ManagementKey Competencies: Leadership and Team Management, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Stakeholder Coordination, Planning and Scheduling, Communication and Negotiation Skills, Safety Leadership, Quality Focus, Result-Oriented Project Execution
