Nokia Technology Standards drives innovation and manages intellectual property. You will be part of a large, global team of world-class technical patent specialists managing Nokia’s leading portfolio of 5G and 6G standard-essential patents. You will work closely with inventors and 3GPP standards delegates to identify and protect high-value 5G and 6G inventions, from ideation through claim charting. You will also collaborate with patent associates to create high-quality patents and broaden your expertise beyond technology into patent prosecution. By combining your technical expertise with close collaboration across patent prosecution and monetization activities, you will contribute significant value to the development of our world-class patent portfolio. You will take technical ownership of a specific technology domain within cellular standards inventions and patents, with substantial business impact. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
Collaborate with inventors to develop high-value 5G and 6G invention disclosures within your area of technical expertise, evaluate the disclosures, and make patent filing decisions.Lead claim charting against 5G and 6G specifications to support the development of a high-value patent portfolio in your area of technical expertise. Assess the value of patent families and make decisions on their further development across the global patent portfolio.Promote a culture of innovation across the company, with technical patent specialists playing a central role in close collaboration with inventors and patent associates.
Key Skills And Experience
A PhD in telecommunications or a related field.Solid professional experience in either cellular standards patenting or cellular standards research; candidates with a research background should also demonstrate a strong track record of inventions and patents.Deep expertise in 5G and/or 6G systems, particularly in 3GPP physical-layer design or radio protocols.A proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
It would be an advantage if you also had:
Familiarity with AI tools used in patenting and/or cellular standards research.
