Role Summary:
The Risk and Security team (RAS) is a key component of the Value-Added Services (VAS) PD division within Visa. VAS-RAS has a suite of high visibility, high-volume, revenue earning applications that provide solutions related to Risk Management, Identity and Authentication. Our capabilities are used extensively by key players in the payment eco-space across the globe.
Our Technical Program Managers are highly visible leaders, building bridges across Visa to ensure projects are effectively developed, integrated and deployed with quality and on time delivery into our production systems.
As a Technical Program Manager for our RAS team, you will drive quality and velocity of our technology. You should be comfortable with owning issues and managing the outcome. You enjoy driving, resolving, facilitating and follow up. You understand the risks and the trade-offs and are both technical and process focused.
A strong candidate will have a solid experience with technology/product program management, agentic development, release management, x-functional team leadership, as well as superb skills in communications, business analysis, problem-solving, cross-team coordination, communications, processes, and change management. The ideal candidate is not just a facilitator or project plan tracker but is self motivated and ensures things get done. The ideal candidate must have a drive to get things done and a “make it happen” attitude.
Essential Functions
Key resource to lead/support end-to-end planning and execution of one or more projects and/or Agile/Kanban teams that are part of a larger program. Contribute to and facilitate negotiations on scope, schedule, budget, risks, releases and communications.Coach multiple teams through the software development life cycle using Agentic Development, Kanban, Agile, Scrum, and Lean practices and work cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure projects are developed and deployed with quality and timely delivery into our production systems. Ask thoughtful questions to help our customers, product owners, and product managers to maximize ROI and meet company objectives. Understand product strategy and benefits of key deliverables in area of responsibility.Work with product owners to promote and contribute to the improvement of the product backlogDrive planning, dependency and risk management, architecture completion, backlog grooming, reviews/demos, retrospectives, and other key ceremonies related to both Kanban and Scrum in an agentic environmentFacilitate discussion and conflict resolutionCoach team in estimation techniquesShield the team from outside distractions and interferencesTrack and remove impediments for the teamDevelop metrics and reports using JA/Jira/GIT/Claude to help the team understand its health and progress and to set goalsLead team in its Agentic Development adoptionLead Agentic Development release planningEnsure clear communication and collaboration among the Product Owner and members of the Development team Ensure the program and projects are in compliance with Visa's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is reported regularly on program progress and financial status.Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders; hold regular cross organizational management briefings.Lead boldly and utilize hard and soft skills to influence participants of all levels towards the common goal.Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.Identify and manage dependencies and impacts Drive improvement in overall efficiency and reliability of our release and deployment processes.Facilitate solutions for identified security vulnerabilities and track to timely remediationExercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Computer Science or a related technical discipline. Advanced degree is a plus.7+ years of experience, as an Analyst, Technical Project/Program Manager or Developer, working with technical teams developing Enterprise class software applications. Ability to work with global teams and ability to lead and influence across all time zonesHands on experience with Claude/GIT/Jira/JAExcellent analytical skills and enthusiastic problem solverStrong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.Strong knowledge of Project Management, ADLC, SDLC principles and practices and agile frameworks.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. A demonstrated ability to effectively document and communicate technical and business issues and solutions to appropriate organizational levels.Ability to work with minimal guidance. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and manage one’s time.Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority.
