Full job description

We are looking for a Tech Lead to drive end-to-end engineering ownership across high-impact product areas at Licious. This role will lead a team of SDE 2s and SDE 3s, delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems. The scope of work can span across multiple business verticals including and not limited to Supply Chain, Retail or Consumer platforms.

This is a high-ownership role suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment and enjoys solving complex problems at scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of engineers (SDE 2s and SDE 3s), driving technical excellence and high-quality deliveryOwn end-to-end design and development of scalable, distributed systemsDrive architectural decisions with a strong focus on distributed architecture and system scalabilityCollaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutionsEnsure high standards of code quality, performance, security, and reliabilityDrive performance optimization initiatives and continuously improve system efficiencyIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability challengesChampion best practices across microservices, API design, and cloud-native architecturesFoster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement within the teamContribute to hiring, onboarding, and capability building within the engineering team

Requirements7–9 years of experience in software engineering with strong backend or full-stack development expertiseProven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams (SDE 2s and SDE 3s)Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system designHands-on experience with distributed systems and scalable architectureStrong experience with modern tech stacks including Java, Python, React Native, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL and AWSSolid understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud-native systemsExperience in building and scaling high-performance systems with a focus on reliability and efficiencyExperience with modern development practices including CI/CD, containerization, and observabilityAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous, startup environment
