Description:

Lead and grow a high-performing team of 5 RF and physical layer (PHY) systems engineers, driving the technical execution, performance evaluation, and system-level ownership of next-generation wireless modems. In this role, you will act as the core technical focal point while balancing people management, roadmap execution, and cross-functional alignment.

Your responsibilities include:

Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and scale a team of 5 engineers, fostering technical excellence, career growth, and a collaborative engineering culture.Technical Ownership & Direction: Guide the team's technical strategy for RF/baseband/PHY system definition, performance characterization, and system-level troubleshooting.Cross-Functional Execution: Serve as the primary technical and managerial bridge between your team and RFIC design, algorithm, software, and firmware departments.Framework & Automation Oversight: Oversee the development of advanced Python and MATLAB environments used for automated data analysis, I/Q processing, and system performance evaluations.Roadmap & Resource Planning: Prioritize project tasks, define technical milestones, and ensure high-quality deliverables across all system development and evaluation phases.

Job Requirements

Requirements-Must Have

Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience in wireless communications, with a proven track record of leading technical teams or managing engineering talent in an RF/PHY domain.Leadership Capability: Demonstrated experience managing or tech-leading a small-to-mid-sized engineering team (around 3 to 8 direct reports), with strong skills in mentoring and project execution.RF & PHY Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of wireless modem architectures, digital communications, and RF chain performance (Noise Figure, IP3, return loss, Superheterodyne/Zero-IF architectures).Programming & Tooling Proficiency: Strong background in Python and/or MATLAB for data analysis, automation, and algorithm evaluation.Lab & Measurement Acumen: Hands-on familiarity with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, power meters) and system-level debugging methodologies.Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to align cross-functional teams and present technical roadmaps to leadership.

Nice to Have

Digital Communications & Impairments: Practical knowledge of I/Q modulation (QAM, PSK), Digital Predistortion (DPD), Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) characterization.Engineering Mindset: Pragmatic problem-solving approach, strong system-level perspective, and experience thriving in fast-paced multidisciplinary environments.
