Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including our Global Finance Org., Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal Team, Strategy and Corporate Development Team, and People & Places Org.

Expedia Group is seeking a Tax Senior Analyst to join our Indirect Tax Operations team in our Bangalore, India office under a hybrid working model. In this role you will hold primary responsibility for U.S. state and local sales and use tax, lodging and hotel tax compliance, and related international indirect tax obligations, while partnering closely with colleagues across Seattle, London, Sao Paulo and other Expedia Group offices, as well as with Finance, Legal, and external advisors.

In This Role, You Will

Coordinate, prepare, and perform detailed review of U.S. state and local sales and use tax returns and lodging/hotel tax compliance filings, as well as other international indirect tax obligations, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.Prepare and review tax workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for all indirect tax compliance obligations across applicable jurisdictions.Prepare financial journal entries, account reconciliations, subledger reconciliations, etc. in Oracle and supporting systems.Monitor and research U.S. state and local indirect tax legislative and regulatory changes (e.g., sales tax nexus, lodging tax, city/county hotel tax developments) and international indirect tax developments; assess and communicate impact on Expedia Group’s compliance obligations.Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate indirect tax data capture and reporting across all relevant platforms and jurisdictions.Assist with exemption certificate management requirements and related documentation across applicable U.S. and international jurisdictions.Support indirect tax project work as required, including business advisory, financial reporting, transactional tax data analysis, and tax research and analysis.Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the indirect tax compliance function.Use and help enhance tax technology tools (e.g., AI and agentic capabilities, Alteryx, Power BI/Tableau, Power Automate, SharePoint, ERP/Oracle, etc.) to improve data quality, controls, and reporting.Work under the direction of the Tax Manager, Indirect Tax Operations, updating regularly on the timing of deliverables and progress against due dates.Perform self-review of all work products and ensure timely, accurate compliance deliverables.

Experience And Qualifications

Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or actively working toward attainment is a plus.Additional postgraduate qualifications in tax or accounting are welcome.Typically, 3–5 years of tax experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.Experience in marketplace platform compliance— including U.S. sales and use tax, U.S. gross receipts taxes, and/or city/county lodging and hotel tax — is preferred; equivalent international indirect tax experience is also valued.Experience with tax return preparation, detailed review, and related compliance filings across multiple jurisdictions, including partnering with third party compliance providers to deliver scalable filing and payment processes.Exposure to indirect tax project work — business advisory, financial reporting, or tax research — is a plus.Experience with tax technology or process improvement tools is a plus.Fluency in English.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Oracle or other ERP systems and SharePoint.Comfort working with large data sets, tax reconciliations, and analytical tools.Experience with or willingness to learn automation tools such as AI and agentic tools, Alteryx, Power Automate, UIPath, or similar platforms.Familiarity with indirect tax compliance software is a plus.Highly organized with strong attention to detail, superior analytical skills, and a focus on high-quality, accurate outputs.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and time zones.Self-starter and diligent problem solver who takes ownership of projects from start to finish.Collaborative team player who works well both independently and in a team environment with a collegial professional demeanor.Curious and adaptable, with a strong desire to learn new skills and a natural intellectual curiosity.Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while managing multiple competing priorities.Motivated to plan the timing of deliverables within agreed due dates and to work effectively and efficiently under pressurePlease note that this role is only available in the following location: Bangalore, in alignment with our flexible work model which requires employees to be in-office atleast three days a week
