🤔 What can I expect from this role?Posha is building an AI-powered automated cooking robot and needs a Supply Chain Manager to own material readiness and supplier strategy through our next phase of growth — someone equally comfortable digging into a BOM with an engineer, negotiating with a critical supplier, and building the systems that prevent the next fire before it starts.
🔧 What will my work responsibilities look like if I join Posha?
🌐 Sourcing & ProcurementManage 50+ vendors across off-the-shelf and manufactured components — servo/BLDC motors, actuators, display modules, camera modules, flow sensors, power supplies etc.,.Own sourcing of manufactured parts: sheet metal, casting, CNC, injection molding, gear hobbing, PCB fab/PCBA.Bring genuine technical fluency in specs, tolerances, and process capability to evaluate quotes, flag DFM issues, and hold real technical conversations with engineering and suppliers.Vet and onboard new CMs/vendors via structured RFQ.Lead CM transitions and qualification — DVT/PVT, tooling transfer, FAI.Build manufacturing partnerships ground-up, including on-site visits.
🦾 Material Planning & ReadinessOwn material planning across development builds, NPI, and mass production.Drive PO placement and tracking with proactive risk visibility.Manage safety stock and inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
🤝 Commercial Negotiation & Supplier RelationshipsBuild suppliers as long-term partners, not transactions.Hit cost targets via should-cost modeling; negotiate piece pricing, tooling/NRE, terms, MOQs, lead timesRun supplier scorecards on delivery, quality, responsiveness, and financial health.
👀 Supplier Risk & ResilienceIdentify BOM single points of failure and build backup sourcing.Assess supplier capacity and readiness.Mitigate risk from lead times, design changes, and capacity constraints through alternate sourcing and risk buys.
🛠️ Engineering PartnershipPartner with Hardware/R&D on DFM, value engineering, and component selection.Align with Finance on costing / cash flow and Ops on demand forecasting.
📊 Supplier QualityOwn incoming quality standards, FAI, and vendor qualification end-to-end.Track PPM, CAPA closure, and audit scores through a scorecard/review cadence.Lead root-cause analysis on quality escapes and drive CAPA to closure.Conduct supplier audits and build quality requirements into sourcing decisions upfront.
🤖 Systems & ReportingBuild ERP-based systems from the ground up for an eagle's-eye view across procurement, inventory, and vendor performance.Maintain BOM traceability, AVL documentation, and build reporting dashboards.
✅ Requirements4+ years in supply chain/sourcing/manufacturing with hands-on sourcing across the component and manufactured-part categories above, backed by real technical knowledge — not just vendor management.Engineering background (Mechanical, Electronics, or Industrial) preferred.Proven NPI/industrialisation experience, prototype through volume production.Exceptional attention to detail and forecasting ability — spots quality/defect/supply risk early, decides on data.Strong relationship-building across people, vendors, and ecosystems in India, China, and the US.High-ownership operator, comfortable with ambiguity and building process from scratch.Proven ability to lead/build a team — this role grows into leading one.Willingness to travel is required, primarily to China, with periodic travel within India.
