We are seeking a Staff, Technology Strategy to join the AI Acceleration team within Walmart Global Technology India. This senior individual contributor role will help shape and execute the strategy for responsible, practical and measurable AI adoption across the technology organization. The role sits at the intersection of technology strategy, applied AI, business analysis, change management, enablement and program execution—translating emerging AI capabilities into scalable ways of working that improve associate productivity, leadership decision-making, and business outcomes.
What you'll do:1) Understand Business ContextSynthesize complex unstructured asks into structured problem statementsTranslate requirements into projects, activities and tasks in alignment with the overall strategyServe as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and resultsRecommend new processes and AI first ways of working
2) Strategy Planning & DevelopmentConduct ongoing industry & internal research on AI, agentic tools, emerging Tech capabilities, AI skilling needs and enterprise AI adoption best practices & trends.Create custom frameworks for evaluating different options and helping with decisionsIdentify critical success factors and related key performance indicators for successful strategy planning and implementationSynthesize insights into crisp point-of-view strategy documents and executive-level storyboards for senior stakeholder presentations.Build a clear point of view on current AI adoption and integration into day-to-day work (what is used, by whom, for which workflows, and why).
3) Influencing without authority and building stakeholder consensusCommunicate articulately and concisely in stakeholder meetings involving multiple teamsConvey complex information and address ambiguity in a simplified manner to bring everyone onto a common understandingBuild productive, collaborative relationships with stakeholdersInfluence cross-functional teams and stakeholders across levels within StratOps and outside like Communications, People/HR, Finance, Legal/Risk, Product & Tech to initiate and drive change initiatives across the organization.Independently prepare clear, concise, logically structured reusable materials (talking points, FAQs, narrative arcs, showcase content) to support leadership alignment and communications.Seek and provide constructive feedback, anticipate stakeholder needs/questions and respond appropriatelyDesign and run change plans for AI initiatives: stakeholder mapping, impact assessments, change journeys, comms plans and reinforcement mechanismsTailor the strategy by stakeholders to garner Buy-inPartner & influence cross-functional teams4) Measurement, analytics and leadership reportingDefine and instrument enterprise measurement framework for AI cultural change and adoptionCreate leadership reporting channels and regular executive updates (dashboards, QBR content, steering committee readouts)
5) Technology AcumenExhibit AI practitioner knowledge with hands on experience in using AI for research, strategy building, storytelling and vibe-coding custom automations/ dashboardUnderstand available tech products, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, to compare choicesAssesses different programming tools, methodologies, frameworks and the overarching systems architectureUnderstands AI, frameworks, and tools used across multiple products within the domain to make informed discussions with engineering teams to prioritize efforts versus features and assess the risks of certain featuresOwns business and user acceptance testing of products/features
6) Training, enablement and AI literacySupport leadership training programs and role-based AI enablement curriculum curationTranslate training needs into actionable requirements and coordinate with training team to evaluate content options and deliver it.Run high-touch enablement mechanisms (office hours, workflow labs, clinics) to accelerate adoption and confidence.Work with Tech team to define AI Lab/ assessment requirements and get it setup for experimentation
7) Program managementOwn program management for the AI acceleration charter initiatives: planning, execution tracking, risk/issue management, and stakeholder coordination.Develop, prioritize and coordinate work plans and reviews project schedules, costs, milestones, communications, and documentationFollow project management methodologies by tracking and monitoring work, holding project teams accountable to timelines, and ensuring adherence to project milestonesIdentify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate risks, prioritizing and ensuring the resolution of critical issues.Create communication plans which determines communication level, frequency, detail and the distribution of status updatesMinimize the impacts of project changesMaintain a single source of truth for artifacts (roadmaps, playbooks, comms assets, metrics, and decision logs).
What you'll bring:Basic Qualifications10+ years of experience in technology strategy, management consulting, product strategy or a related senior individual contributor role within a large technology or GCC organization.Proven ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured problem statements, workstreams, projects, and measurable outcomes aligned to enterprise strategy.Experience developing strategy artefacts such as executive narratives, decision frameworks, business cases, ROI models, roadmaps, dashboards, and senior-leadership readouts.Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex technical and business topics into crisp storyboards, written narratives and presentations for Senior and Executive leadership.Hands-on working knowledge of generative AI and applied AI concepts, including prompt workflows, responsible-use practices, hallucination and bias risks, retrieval-augmented generation, privacy/IP considerations and human-in-the-loop controls.Practical experience using AI tools to improve strategy, analysis, automation, prototyping, reporting or workflow productivity.Experience defining adoption, usage, value and impact metrics; building measurement frameworks; and translating insights into action plans for senior stakeholders.Hands-on change management experience, including stakeholder mapping, impact assessments, communication plans, enablement journeys, training rollouts and reinforcement mechanisms.Demonstrated ability to influence teams & stakeholders cross-functional product, engineering, data, communications, HR, finance and Infosec stakeholders without direct authority.Strong program management discipline across multiple concurrent workstreams, including planning, prioritization, milestone tracking, risk/issue management, decision logs and single-source-of-truth artefact management.Experience designing or scaling internal AI communities, champion networks, role-based enablement programs, AI labs, workflow clinics or centers of excellence within a large technology organization.Bias for action, high ownership, strong judgment, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsPreferred QualificationsMBA/ PGDMHas a good understanding of GCC operating model and ecosystemPrior experience in big tech, top-tier consulting, a large GCC or a high-growth technology environment where AI strategy, technology transformation or enterprise adoption was a core part of the role.Experience building, evaluating, or scaling applied AI, agentic AI, computer vision, retrieval-augmented generation or large-scale generative AI products, platforms, or internal productivity solutions.Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, model risk, data privacy, legal/IP considerations and enterprise AI risk management.Experience with data analysis and visualization tools to build operational dashboards and track AI adoption, usage, productivity and business value metrics.Strong financial and analytical acumen, including experience developing cost-versus-value analyses, investment cases or ROI narratives for technology initiatives.
