Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

Contribute to the successful implementation of solutions facing our platform and occasionally the broader DE and E teams.

Lead the successful implementation of solutions facing our platform and occasionally the broader DE and E Technology teams.

Lead the development of frameworks, environments, build systems, and tooling for our platform.

Lead the platform-level support of various visualisation tools for reporting across the enterprise through APIs and embedded reporting.

Lead the platform-level unification of numerous tools into a consistent and coherent application.

Lead the strategic analysis of existing technologies, future projects, and execution options.

Lead the definition of project/platform architecture and its proliferation.

Lead engineering in a clean-code environment utilising shared-code best practices.

Be the core member of our engineering team, building a platform of excellence that strives for optimised processes, maintainability, and accountability.

Develop full-stack applications as part of a unified platform and user experience.

Write code that is concise, optimised, and well-tested.

Lead team discussions and planning sessions.

Support a broad platform of associated tooling through on-call rotation.

Deliver functional and supportable product as part of an agile development team.

Work closely with product managers, UX designers, technical program managers and partner teams to decompose complex problems into simple, reusable solutions.

Write documentation for platform, functionality, or processes to augment knowledge transfer.

Review teammates' code and pull requests for overall quality, standards alignment, and test coverage.

Assist in the technical development of other engineers: actively mentoring individuals and the community on technical issues.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field with 7+ years of progressive experience in software development (SDE).

Proficient in application development, including NodeJS and React in JavaScript / Typescript.

7+ years of experience with full-stack application development (GraphQL, Postgres Database).

7+ years of experience with high-test coverage delivery using unit- and front-end-test frameworks.

5+ years of experience building cross-functional and broadly scoped platforms.

Thorough knowledge of event-driven systems, event buses, and graph databases (Kinesis, Neo4j).

Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. )

Extensive experience with Docker and Docker orchestration tooling (k8s, EKS, ECS, etc. )

Extensive experience developing and maintaining CI/CD environments.

Extensive experience with front-end visualisation of large data sets (d3 Linkurious).

Extensive experience with testing libraries (Selenium, junit, Jest).

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to deliver projects on time.

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

A highly motivated, self-starting individual

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with in-house LLM infrastructure and software / OpenAI tools and training others.

Experience with large-scale data libraries (Druid, Databricks, Snowflake).

Experience maintaining and collaborating with a shared React component library.

Experience with documentation creation and maintenance.

Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e. g., AWS).

Experience working with Agile methodologies.

Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals.

Experience with Kafka, Amazon SQS, or Kinesis.
