You will act as a force multiplier for our engineering teams by identifying workflow bottlenecks, pioneering AI integrations, establishing best practices for code organization, and maintaining performant development environments.What You’ll DoDesign & Automation: Build and ship automated solutions that allow developers to deliver features rapidly without compromising quality, stability, or security standards.Environment Performance & Tuning: Analyze local development workflows, build tools to track operational metrics, and profile/tune development environments (including codebase modifications).AI & Tooling Enablement: Leverage AI technologies across the development stack and automate environment configuration to accelerate developer velocity.Code Health & Best Practices: Define guidelines for modern code organization, build systems, and maintainable software architecture.Developer Support & Collaboration: Partner directly with developers, architects, and Release Engineering to streamline CI/CD pipelines, optimize local builds, and resolve complex environment issues.Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of industry trends in developer efficiency, integrating modern tools and processes into Okta’s engineering ecosystem.QualificationsExperience: 6+ years of professional software development experience in fast-paced environments with a proven track record of engineering excellence.Core Tech Stack: 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, debugging, profiling, and performance tuning in Java, Spring, and Tomcat.Build Systems: Deep expertise in configuring, profiling, and optimizing build tools such as Maven (preferred), Gradle, or Bazel for high performance.Containerization & Cloud: Direct experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) and familiarity with major public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).CI/CD & Source Control: Strong familiarity with Git, modern continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, and developer tooling.Collaboration & Adaptability: Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to navigate cross-functional engineering teams, communicate clear standards, and rapidly master new technologies.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.P24492_3532191 The Okta ExperienceSupporting Your Well-Being Driving Social Impact Developing Talent and Fostering Connection + CommunityWe are intentional about connection.
