Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Digital Design Engineer to join our dynamic and growing EECD organization. You will be responsible for the WLAN PHY architecture/design/implementation of Wi-Fi 7/8 chips for the IOT market. Primary responsibility would be to drive Synaptics Wi-Fi PHY Architecture for all market tiers, covering features and scalability, keeping in mind power consumption and cost of the product. Responsibilities will include coordinating with multiple teams on specifications, design deliverables, handoff, verification, and timing closure. This role will work closely with Systems/RF/Analog/SW/Validation teams for productizing WLAN/BT combo chips for home IOT and automotive markets. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Digital Engineering, Bluetooth.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
Own WLAN PHY sub-blocks all the way from micro architecture to productizationDefine WLAN PHY micro architecture from the standards and/or requirement documentsPerform digital design, RTL implementation, Lint, CDC checks, timing closure, verification and coverage closure, ECO implementation and chip productization debugWork with Systems team in performance analysis and propose IP enhancements to achieve better PPAComplete designs on time that meet all design specifications

Qualifications (Requirements)
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering or related field or equivalent5+ years of experience in the design and delivery of IPsSolid track record of working on the complete product cycle – Defining Systems/Product requirements, architecture, design, verification, ASIC closure, Tapeout, Silicon bringup, productization and customer supportExperience collaborating across functions to define and implement world class competitive productsSolid understanding of digital IC design flow (design, verification, synthesis, HW/SW co-working)No travel required
