We're looking for a Senior Architect - Platform to drive the architecture and technical direction of large-scale, highly reliable platforms. If you have 13-19 years of experience and enjoy solving complex problems across distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, scalability, reliability, and developer experience, this could be a great opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Define and drive the architecture and technical roadmap for platform engineering initiatives.

Design highly scalable, resilient and secure distributed systems and platform services.

Lead architecture decisions across cloud infrastructure, APIs, services, data and integrations.

Establish engineering standards around scalability, reliability, performance, security and observability.

Work closely with Engineering, Product, SRE, DevOps and Security teams to build robust platform capabilities.

Drive modernisation of existing systems and adoption of modern architectural patterns.

Solve complex technical challenges involving high availability, fault tolerance, latency and scale.

Mentor senior engineers and architects while influencing technical direction across teams.

Evaluate new technologies and make pragmatic build-vs-buy and architecture decisions.

Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Requirements:

13-19 years of strong software/platform engineering experience.

Proven experience designing large-scale distributed systems and platforms.

Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, cloud-native architecture and system design.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS / Azure / GCP.

Strong knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD and infrastructure automation.

Solid understanding of databases, caching, messaging and event-driven architectures.

Experience with high-scale, highly available production systems.

Strong understanding of observability, reliability and performance engineering.

Excellent architecture, problem-solving and technical communication skills.

Ability to influence engineering teams and drive technical decisions across organisational boundaries.
