Mission

Reports directly to the APAC SQD Leader A&H with team performance metrics in line. Resourcing and Continuous Quality Improvement plans with Tier1 Suppliers, support suppliers on GTX directed Tier2 suppliers and monitor the overall progress.Owns full accountability for supplier operational performances.Assures that purchased materials and components meet the GTX Quality requirements.Manage the Quality/Technical activities taking place between the Launch SQ teams and the Suppliers on new programs launches.Support Continuous Quality Improvement plans with Suppliers and Monitor progress.Support rapid problem solving methodology and corrective action implementation with suppliers.Conduct Quality System and Process Audits at suppliers.

Specific Duties

Deployment of Technical process audits at suppliers, best practice and PFMEA.Coaching the Supplier on Manufacturing process and Quality SystemsQualify External Process Capability and Capacity for NPI/HLRR - PPAP/ Run @ Rate Manage supplier APQP requirements in getting proper Quality documentation and adherence to customer specific standards Support APQP Phase 0-6 Assist Commodities in New supplier assessment and selection Perform periodic process audits at supplier sites, Report audit rating, areas of risk, observations and improvement opportunities and Track gap closure Monitor supplier performance Metrics and deploy improvement plans accordinglyApply a variety of tools and techniques to continuously improve product quality, process capability and costInteract with Suppliers to resolve material problems on-site. Drive root cause analysis, containment and corrective actions

Qualification, Attributes & Technical Skills Required

Extensive knowledge of automotive hardware commodities and manufacturing processes, including Machining, Stamping, Plastic Injection Molding, Metal Injection Molding (MIM), Fasteners, Springs, Gears, Shafts, Housings, Brackets, Precision Mechanical Components and Assemblies. General understanding of manufacturing process controls, special processes, heat treatment, surface finishing/coating, dimensional inspection, tooling and process capability requirements. Experience in supplier qualification, development, industrialization and product launch activities for new and existing suppliers. Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Run@Rate and production readiness reviews. Experience in supplier process audits, quality system audits and manufacturing assessments in accordance with IATF16949, VDA 6.3 and AIAG requirements. Ability to read engineering drawings, technical specifications and GD&T requirements, with good understanding of dimensional and tolerance controls. Capability to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues through effective supplier management and process improvement. Problem solving analysis skills with a logical and methodical approach (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FTA). Experience in failure analysis related to machining, stamping, plastic and MIM processes, including root cause identification and corrective action implementation. Knowledge of process capability analysis, statistical methods and continuous improvement tools to drive supplier quality performance.

Project Management and Leadership Skills. Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Manufacturing Process Auditing and Supplier Development. Quality practices: AIAG APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE, IATF16949, VDA 6.3, etc. Fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of a 3rd European language is a plus. University Graduate in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or Industrial Engineering. Previous working experience of minimum 8 years, preferably in automotive industry. Six Sigma experience, Lean Manufacturing expertise, Green/Black Belt is a plus. Communicate in a clear and concise manner with all business functions and suppliers. Excellent personal organization and capable of planning and managing own work.
