Spatial Design Executive

We are looking for a highly motivated Architect or Industrial Designer to join our Retail Space Design team. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong design thinking with technical expertise, material innovation, and a deep understanding of retail environments.The candidate will be responsible for researching retail operations, understanding evolving customer and business needs, and translating insights into innovative retail concepts, furniture, fixtures, and spatial solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring extensive collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and manufacturing partners across India.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch retail operations, customer behaviour, market trends, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for retail space evolution.Understand business objectives and convert insights into clear design briefs and innovation opportunities.Design and develop retail furniture, fixtures (FF&E), display systems, and spatial elements that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.Explore and evaluate new materials, manufacturing techniques, and sustainable solutions for retail environments.Develop concepts, prototypes, and detailed designs from ideation through implementation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, operations, visual merchandising, procurement, and project execution.Travel across India to conduct market research, visit stores, engage with vendors, identify new materials, and build a strong network of manufacturing and supply partners.Coordinate with vendors to develop prototypes, conduct material trials, and ensure quality, functionality, and cost optimization.Prepare technical drawings, specifications, presentations, and documentation for execution.Continuously identify opportunities to improve retail formats, customer experience, operational efficiency, and scalability.Work ExperienceRequired QualificationsBachelor's in Architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.3–5 years of experience in retail design, furniture design, fixture development, interior architecture, or industrial design.Experience in retail environments, branded spaces, or commercial interiors is preferred.Design & Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction techniques.Experience in furniture and fixture (FF&E) design and development.Ability to develop concepts from research through production-ready solutions.Understanding of ergonomics, detailing, fabrication methods, and cost-effective design.Strong problem-solving and innovation mindset.Business & Research SkillsAbility to understand retail operations and business requirements.Strong research capability to identify emerging retail trends and customer insights.Commercial awareness with the ability to balance design, functionality, quality, and cost.Experience in vendor development and manufacturing coordination is an advantage.Software SkillsSolidWorks (Must)AutoCAD (Must)SketchUp (preferred)Microsoft Office (Must)Personal AttributesSelf-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.Curious, adaptable, and passionate about innovation.Willingness to travel extensively across India.Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
