This team is responsible for building the foundational platform that enables seamless integration across products, services, and external systems.In this role, you will design, build, and own backend services that power core platform capabilities such as feature entitlements, usage metering, integrations, and platform APIs. You will independently deliver scoped features and improvements within one or more services, while contributing to the scalability, reliability, and extensibility of the Platform Connect ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain backend services that power Platform Connect capabilities such as entitlements, usage tracking, integrations, and platform APIsOwn small to medium-sized features and scoped improvements end to end, from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production supportDevelop scalable, secure, and maintainable APIs for internal and external consumersWork on service-to-service integrations across platform components such as identity, billing, metering, and tenant management systemsBreak down requirements into technical tasks, estimate work, and proactively surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffsDebug production issues, participate in incident response, and improve system reliability, performance, and operational readinessContribute to code reviews, testing, documentation, and engineering best practices across the teamImprove observability through logging, monitoring, tracing, and actionable operational metricsCollaborate closely with product managers, QA, and peer engineering teams to deliver end-to-end platform capabilitiesContribute to internal tools, scripts, and engineering improvements that raise delivery quality and developer productivityRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field3–5 years of backend software development experienceStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentalsProficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Node.js, Python, or GoExperience designing and building REST APIs and backend services in a distributed or service-oriented environmentFamiliarity with relational and/or NoSQL databasesExperience with Git, code reviews, testing practices, and standard software development workflowsAbility to debug application and production issues and deliver maintainable, high-quality codeGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience with microservices-based architecture and distributed systemsFamiliarity with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Express/NestJS, Django, or similarWorking knowledge of platform concepts such as:Feature entitlements and access controlUsage metering and billing systemsAPI gateways and service-to-service communicationExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPFamiliarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practicesExposure to messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and caching technologies such as RedisUnderstanding of authentication and authorization concepts such as OAuth, JWT, RBAC, and ABACExperience with observability and operational tooling for monitoring and troubleshooting production systemsKey SkillsStrong problem-solving and analytical thinkingAbility to write clean, scalable, secure, and maintainable backend codeOwnership mindset with the ability to independently drive scoped work to completionSound engineering judgment for routine technical tradeoffs and implementation decisionsCuriosity to understand platform-level systems, integrations, and customer impactGood collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing skillsWhat You’ll Work OnPlatform APIs powering cross-product integrationsFeature entitlement systems and access control layersUsage metering pipelines and tenant-level trackingService integrations across identity, billing, and product systemsFoundational platform services that enable scalable product growthGrowth OpportunitiesDeepen your expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and platform engineeringGain hands-on experience with production-grade, multi-tenant backend systemsBuild ownership across the full service lifecycle, from design to production operationsGrow into more advanced technical scope across architecture, system design, and cross-team platform initiatives  SolarWinds is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
