Full job description
Software Engineer (Frontend-heavy Full Stack) Role Overview
Role: Software Engineer
Experience: 2+ Years
Team: Converse Engineering
Primary Skillset: Frontend-heavy full stack; real-time, event-driven interfaces
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
You will own product surfaces end to end: from design and implementation to production operation and debugging. The weight is on the frontend, but you are expected to build and own the APIs behind your own features.
About The Team
Converse is LeadSquared's conversation platform. It comprises the agent-facing chat applications and the underlying channel layer that delivers messages across an expanding portfolio of communication channels.
Converse is shared infrastructure. Several LeadSquared products depend on it for message delivery, including products unrelated to chat. As a result, interface contracts, backward compatibility, and availability are first-order concerns.
Core Responsibilities
Build and own agent-facing interfaces that are live and event-driven, with several conversations in flight at once. Build the internal configuration and authoring tools that determine how quickly a new customer or provider can be brought online. Build customer-facing web surfaces, including those carrying consent and privacy requirements. Turn dense operational data into interfaces that people use to make decisions. Write and own the APIs behind your own features. Instrument the frontend for production diagnosis through error tracking, performance monitoring, and real-user metrics. Work within a micro-frontend architecture embedded inside the CRM. Operate your work in production, debugging issues with Product, QA, and DevOps.
Expected Candidate Profile
2+ years of experience building production frontend applications used by real users. Strong React and TypeScript skills, including hooks, component composition, and state management, along with a working understanding of rendering behaviour and performance. Experience building real-time or event-driven UIs using technologies and patterns such as WebSockets, SSE, and optimistic updates, with an understanding of correctness when events arrive out of order. Strong CSS and layout skills for dense, information-heavy interfaces. Enough backend experience, in any language, to build and own the API behind your own feature. Ability to debug across the browser, network, and service boundary. Sound problem-solving and data structures fundamentals. Accountability for code you did not write by hand, including code produced with AI assistance.
Preferred Experience
Experience with micro-frontend architecture, module federation, or embedding an application inside another product. Experience building or contributing to a shared component library or design system. Experience with Preact, Signals, or other fine-grained reactivity models. Experience with Web Workers, rendering performance, or bundle and load-time optimisation. Experience with data visualisation or dense dashboard and table interfaces. Experience with accessibility and internationalisation. Experience with Node.js/TypeScript or Java backend development. Experience with messaging or communication platforms, or other integration-heavy SaaS products.
Technology Environment
Frontend
React 18, Preact, TypeScript, Signals, micro-frontends, WebSockets, Web Workers
Backend You Will Touch
Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, Express, Serverless Framework; REST and GraphQL
Data And Infrastructure
MySQL, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, AWS, Docker
About The Opportunity
The agent surface is one of the few places in the product where someone sits for a full working day, and the configuration surfaces determine how quickly a new customer can be brought online.
The role offers broad exposure across the product surface, with direct ownership of what you build.
