About The Role

As a Software Engineer on the Cloud Connectivity team, you will help build the next generation of platform SDKs and APIs that enable cloud connectivity at Alteryx.

You will be a strong technical contributor with a passion for building high-quality software. You’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple technologies and programming languages, dive deep into complex technical challenges, and contribute to thoughtful, scalable software design.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and is interested in working with AI, cloud data platforms, APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and modern software technologies.

What You’ll Do

Take full ownership of engineering outcomes, including design, development, testing, and delivery.Contribute to and support DevOps pipelines when required.Participate in code reviews, ensuring clean, well-tested, maintainable, and performant software.Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to design and deliver high-quality solutions.Work within established design systems and engineering standards to ensure consistency and quality.Contribute to the overall quality engineering framework and promote a strong quality-first mindset.Stay current with emerging tools, frameworks, technologies, and software development best practices.Work on challenging engineering problems related to AI and cloud data platforms.Mentor and support junior engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and become stronger contributors.Contribute to creating a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing engineering environment.

What You’ll Bring

2+ years of software design and development experience, preferably working with open-source technologies and open standards.Experience with API and/or SDK development is preferred.Strong programming knowledge in Java.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.Basic understanding of RESTful APIs, cloud-based data handling, and real-time data communication.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and taking on challenging problems.A customer-centric approach and willingness to take ownership of complex technical challenges.Strong focus on code quality, engineering standards, and maintainability.Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers.

Good to Have

Knowledge of Python.Basic understanding of Generative AI concepts.Experience optimizing protocols and building efficient RPC systems.Experience with networking and concurrency.Knowledge of distributed computing, big data, and stream processing systems.Experience working with cloud data platforms or cloud-based connectivity technologies.
