Job Summary
We are hiring Software Engineers to be involved in development & design of the features for NetApp’s flagship storage operating system ONTAP.
ONTAP is a feature rich stack with its rich data management capabilities that has tremendous value to our customers and are used in mission critical applications across the world. You will work as part of a team responsible for the development, testing and debugging of distributed software that drives NetApp cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premises solutions.
As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This is an entry-level technical position that requires an individual to be systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, able to work in a small and large cross-functional teams, willing to learn and driven to produce results.
Job Requirements
Develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure using Python and related technologiesValidation for SAN/block storage features, including test design, execution, and defect lifecycle managementDevelop functional, integration, stress, and scale tests for distributed storage systemsDrive automation-first testing approaches and improve code/test coverage across componentsAnalyze failures, debug issues across software layers, and drive root cause resolution.Strong programming skills in Python (mandatory).Experience with system-level testing and debugging of distributed systemsUnderstanding of Linux/Unix systems, multithreading, and system internalsExperience in test automation for scale, performance, and stress scenariosFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and modern development workflows.Strong debugging skills across software and system layers.Experience in storage technologies is a plus
Education
Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
