Full job description

Responsibilities:

Design, deliver and maintain systems that enable Earners across the globe to easily onboard to the Uber platform, which is a critical step in unlocking Earner access to Uber's platform.

Collaborate with product managers, data science and global operations teams to gather requirements.

Partner with fellow engineers to architect, develop and scale the Screenings platform, while keeping operational issues in mind.

Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements that improve the quality of the systems.

Write clear documentation so that other engineers can partner to contribute and deliver.

Requirements:

6+ years of overall experience with a track record as a software engineer

Experience going through the full software cycle of requirements, design, coding/testing, and rollout/deployment and standard methodologies in delivering world-class software and services.

Experience in technical collaboration with other engineers and product managers.

Passion about your team's mission and a self-starting personality to make things happen.

Proven development experience and proficiency in distributed systems and microservices.

Proven programming skills in Go, Java, Python, or similar.

Proven frontend programming skills in JavaScript, React, or similar.

Adept at communicating and collaborating effectively with others, promoting your ideas as well as being humble when you may be wrong.

Excited to learn from and guide others, and passionate about creating tools and products and providing support for other junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in developing a large-scale consumer internet platform/product.

Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Worked in an environment of collaboration across geographies.

Has mentored and guided engineers on technical implementations.

Work experience with operational/agent workflows will be a plus.
