Full job description
Responsibilities:
Build, deploy, and maintain highly available database infrastructure (24/7).
Design and modernise database platforms using automation and infrastructure-as-code.
Manage scalable, fault-tolerant, and distributed database systems.
Perform database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Develop automation, monitoring, alerting, and recovery solutions.
Plan capacity, upgrades, releases, and infrastructure changes.
Ensure reliability, security, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Maintain documentation and support live events/on-call rotations.
Collaborate with engineering teams and guide junior members.
Requirements:
Experience operating within a database reliability engineering (DRE) and/or systems reliability engineering (SRE) role.
Experience running, deploying, and maintaining production systems in Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure and/or Amazon Web Services.
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Experience building a proper path to production leveraging multiple lifecycles, testing, integration, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with configuration management (Ansible, Chef).
