Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product and Technology is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions across finance, resource management, and operational management. You will work closely with product, finance, and operations stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions. The role also involves adopting modern technologies and AI capabilities to improve automation, insights, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement scalable and secure core systems.

Translate business requirements into robust technical architectures.

Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices.

Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs and their documentation.

Build reliable software with a focus on performance, security, data integrity, and operational excellence.

Design APIs, tools, and services that provide accurate and timely business insights.

Work closely with product, finance, and operations stakeholders.

Evaluate and adopt modern technologies and AI capabilities.

Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.

Mentor engineers and contribute to maintainable, testable, and sustainable software development.

Requirements:

5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

Strong proficiency in Java.

Experience in microservices design and implementation, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, Spring Boot, Spring Security, OAuth2 / JWT, authentication and authorization, JWT, OAuth, and OpenID.

Experience in Docker and Kubernetes.

Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.

CI/CD using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

Event-driven architecture using AWS SNS/SQS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ, and JUnit or similar testing frameworks.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent training/work experience.

Preferred Skills:

Enterprise-level Java/Spring Boot.

WebSockets and real-time applications.

Experience with event-driven architectures.

Serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda/Firebase Functions.

Exposure to AI/ML integration in web applications.
