About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Industrial AI Platform Engineering team. This role will be instrumental in advancing the IRIS Foundry Flows platform, enabling industrial enterprises to build, deploy, and scale AI-powered workflows across diverse environments including AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises deployments.

As part of the core platform engineering team, you will design and develop highly scalable backend services, enhance platform reliability, drive cloud-agnostic architecture initiatives, and contribute to next-generation workflow orchestration capabilities that support global industrial customers and strategic accounts.

This role offers the opportunity to shape critical platform capabilities that serve as the foundation for Industrial AI solutions across manufacturing, process industries, and enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Platform Development

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services powering the IRIS Foundry Flows platform.

Build robust APIs, microservices, and distributed systems to support workflow orchestration and data processing.

Develop reusable platform components that accelerate feature delivery across multiple product teams.

Cloud & Deployment Engineering

Enable deployment flexibility across AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises environments.

Design cloud-agnostic architectures that support diverse customer infrastructure requirements.

Improve platform portability, deployment automation, and operational efficiency.

Scalability & Reliability

Drive improvements in platform stability, performance, and fault tolerance.

Optimize high-volume transaction processing and workflow execution.

Implement monitoring, observability, and resiliency best practices.

Architecture & Innovation

Contribute to technical architecture decisions and long-term platform roadmap.

Participate in system design discussions for large-scale distributed applications.

Identify opportunities to enhance platform capabilities through innovative engineering solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product Management, AI Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Customer Success teams.

Support strategic customer deployments and complex integration requirements.

Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices within the team.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

6+ years of hands-on software development experience.

Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python.

Experience building and supporting backend distributed systems and microservices architectures.

Strong understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.

Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.

Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.

Experience with containerization and deployment technologies.

Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing multi-cloud or cloud-portable platforms.

Experience supporting enterprise SaaS or platform products.

Exposure to workflow orchestration platforms and automation frameworks.

Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.

Knowledge of Generative AI, Conversational AI, or AI platform development.

Experience with observability, monitoring, and platform reliability engineering.

Prior experience working in large-scale technology organizations.

Prior experience with enterprise-grade agentic AI platform development.
